摘要: There is provided a highly water-absorptive polymer composition comprising:(A) 100 parts by weight of a highly water-absorptive polymer having a crosslinked structure, comprising as its constituent a carboxyl group and/or a carboxylate group; and(B) 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of an additive selected from the group consisting of an oxalic acid (salt) compound, a sulfate of a metal selected from titanium, zirconium and vanadium, and a crystalline or noncrystalline, high-purity particulate titania having a mean particle diameter of 1 .mu.m or less, a specific surface area of 10 m.sup.2 /g or more as determined by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, and, when crystalline, a crystal structure of a mixed type of rutile and anatase.There is also provided a method for producing a highly water-absorptive polymer having enhanced gel strength, which comprises treating with an alkoxytitanium a highly water-absorptive polymer having a crosslinked structure, comprising as its constituent a carboxyl group and/or a carboxylate group.

摘要: The present invention provides a silver halide photographic material and an image forming method for obtaining a monochrome image using a dye image even if it is treated with a color developer free of benzyl alcohol; a photographic property of the monochrome image is less deteriorated by a toxic gas such as formaldehyde and an increase in sensitization and fog with time is improved.A silver halide photographic material comprising a support, at least one silver halide emulsion layer on the support and at least one non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer, in which a silver halide grain of the silver halide emulsion layer includes not less than 95% mol of silver halide and in which the silver halide emulsion layer includes a yellow coupler, a magenta coupler, a cyan coupler and a specific formalin scavenger and the silver halide emulsion layer and/or the non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer include a specific s-triazine type compound and a method for forming an image by developing the silver halide photographic material with a color developer substantially free of benzyl alcohol.

摘要: The present invention provides a silver halide photographic material which can give a black-and-white picture by the use of dye images even when processed with a color developer substantially free from benzyl alcohol, and little suffers from the deterioration of photographic characteristics by harmful gas such as formaldehyde; and a process for forming images.Specifically, a silver halide photographic material comprising a base and at least one silver halide emulsion layer formed on the base, wherein the silver chloride content of the grainy silver halide constituting the silver halide emulsion layer is 95 mole % or above; the silver halide emulsion layer contains a yellow coupler, a magenta coupler and a cyan coupler; and the silver halide emulsion layer and/or other hydrophilic colloid layer contains a specific compound; and a process for forming images which comprises processing this silver halide photographic material with a color developer substantially free from benzyl alcohol.

摘要: A process for producing a highly water absorptive polymer comprising the steps of subjecting a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising as the main component acrylic acid and/or an alkali metal or ammonium salt thereof, and optionally containing a crosslinking agent to a water-in-oil type of reverse-phase polymerization in the presence of water, a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator, a dispersant and a hydrophobic hydrocarbon solvent to form a slurry of water-containing particles of a highly water absorptive polymer in the solvent, adding a polymerizable monomer to the slurry, and polymerizing the polymerizable monomer to obtain agglomerates of the particles of the highly water absorptive polymer.

摘要: There is disclosed a holder for a stick-type cosmetic case which has an end portion of which the transverse outer size is smaller than that of the other portion of the cosmetic case. The holder includes: a holder body; a cover member; and a slanting surface. The holder body includes bottom and a peripheral walls defining a hollow for receiving the cosmetic case. The peripheral wall includes front and rear portions. The cover member is pivotally connected to the rear portion of the peripheral wall so as to open and close the hollow. The slanting surface extends between the bottom wall and the rear portion of the peripheral wall. The slanting surface inclines in such a manner that its rear edge is positioned at a higher level than its front edge. The distance between the front edge of the slanting surface and the front portion of the peripheral wall is less than the length of the cosmetic case and not less than the length of the other portion of the cosmetic case. The distance between the rear edge of the slanting surface and the lower face of the cover member is less than the transverse outer size of the other portion of the cosmetic case when the cover member is in its closed position. The holder further includes an opening or openings for allowing the end portion of the cosmetic case to project outward from the outer face of the front portion when the cosmetic case is in the hollow.

摘要: A silver halide photographic material is provided which exhibits nearly equal sensitivities and gamma values with respect to yellow, magenta and cyan to form a black-and-white image of neutral black or sepia tone, even when it is processed with a color developer free from benzyl alcohol. The silver halide photographic material is made up of a substrate and at least one silver halide emulsion layer formed on the substrate. The silver chloride content of silver halide grains constituting the silver halide emulsion layer is 95 mole % or above, the silver halide emulsion is spectrally sensitized by a specific sensitizing dye, and the silver halide emulsion layer contains a yellow coupler, a magenta coupler and a cyan coupler. The image-forming process is characterized by developing the silver halide photographic material with a color developer substantially free from benzyl alcohol.
