摘要： A male terminal in which a connection portion can be easily shaped, and deformation of the connection portion is prevented so as to ensure an electrical connection of the connection portion to a female terminal. The connection portion is formed at a front end of the male terminal, and is adapted to be electrically connected to a female terminal. The connection portion includes a bottom base portion and a contact portion, and the connection portion is bent and folded, with the contact portion superposed on the bottom base portion. A curved recess (reinforcement portion) is formed by bending at a generally central portion of the contact portion, and the reinforcement portion projects into an internal space of the connection portion, and is held in contact with the bottom base portion. By thus forming the curved reinforcement portion at the contact portion, and by holding the reinforcement portion in contact with the bottom base portion, the strength of the contact portion is increased. Therefore, when an external force acts on the contact portion or the bottom base portion, the contact portion and the bottom base portion are positively prevented from being deformed or crushed into the space.

摘要： A connector housing has a lock arm for locking a terminal therein. The lock arm deflects in an complete insertion state of the terminal so that a spacer abuts against a side surface of the lock arm. The lock arm is formed with a projection which abuts the incompletely inserted terminal in the spacer advancing direction. The projection may be a plate piece elongated in the longitudinal direction of the lock to be pinched by a pair of a resilient contact plates of the terminal. Alternatively, the lock arm may have a protrusion engaging with an engagement hole formed in the connector housing. The protrusion is a rectangular plate extending from the fore end of the lock arm. An inclined guide surface continuous with the engagement hole may be provided in the connector housing. Alternatively, the connector housing may have an inner embossed wall positioned closely to the deflected lock arm to oppose to the spacer. A clearance between the embossed wall and the lock arm is determined within the elastic deflection limit of the lock arm.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a waterproof connector housing, that enables the formation of a uniform packing ring which is an integral part of the housing by engaging a hollow body of a housing with a trapezoidal engaging portion provided on a male mold, holding the housing by contacting tightly an inner wall of the hollow body with the trapezoidal engaging portion to align the center of the male mold with that of the housing, and injecting a rubber material into a packing ring forming space uniformly defined by one of both of the male and female mold through a rubber supply paths of the housing. The housing having the hollow body with tapered shoulder, a male mold having the trapezoidal engaging portion and a female mold beveled or thinned at the open edge are employed for implementing the method.

摘要： The present invention relates to a connector for use in a wiring harness for motor vehicles, and more particularly to a method for shifting a terminal, which is in an incompletely inserted state in a terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing, to a completely inserted position thereof by use of an inserted position correcting jig.As a general procedure of the above method, a front end portion of the inserted terminal position correcting jig is inserted into an opening formed in a peripheral wall provided extendedly from the rear portion of a connector housing, which opening functioning as its pivot center and having a correcting operation checking member therein, thereby to shift the jig toward the housing pivoting on the opening, and by this operation the jig is fitted with the rear end portion of the terminal which is still in an incompletely inserted state so as to shift the terminal to a completely inserted position and securely locked, wherein since the correcting operation checking member formed in the opening is removed when the front end portion of the jig is inserted, whether or not the correcting operation is perfectly done can be checked from outside by a removal or deformation of the correcting operation checking member.

摘要： In a connector terminal inspecting device for inspecting conduction of terminals (79) of a connector (39) having a housing (45) formed with a hood portion (41), which comprises: a connector reception member (29) for supporting the housing (45) of the connector (39) to be tested; and an inspection member (31) disposed movably toward and away from the connector reception member and having a plurality of conduction inspecting pins (67), in particular, the inspection member (31) is formed with a plurality of pin accommodating chambers (65) for accommodating the conduction inspecting pins (67) and further with an engaged inspection portion (63) engaged with the hood (41) of the connector (39) to be tested. A plurality of the conduction inspecting pins (67) accommodated in the pin accommodating chambers (65) are brought into contact with the connector terminals (79) inserted into the pin accommodating chambers (65) from the connector reception member (29) side to the inspection member (31) side, respectively to inspect conduction of the connector terminals (79) of the connector (39). Since the conduction inspecting pins (67) can be protected by the engaged inspection portion (63), it is possible to bring the conduction inspecting pins securely into contact with the connector terminals to be tested.

摘要： Disclosed is a terminal retainer mounted on a rear portion of a connector housing so as to move in a two-stage manner, that is, between a provisionally-connected condition and a completely-connected condition, and in the completely-connected condition the terminal retainer can be positively engaged with metal terminals. Flexible support pieces for metal terminals are provided on a terminal retainer. A flexible retaining piece for the metal terminal is provided at each terminal receiving chamber. In the provisionally-connected condition of the terminal retainer, the flexible support piece is placed on a push-up projection of the connector housing to be held out of a path of movement of the metal terminal within the terminal receiving chamber. When the terminal retainer shifts to the completely-connected condition, a driven projection on the flexible support piece is engaged in a drive groove in the connector housing to forcibly drive the flexible support piece into engagement with the metal terminal.

摘要： The connector housing has a terminal accommodating chamber block made up of a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers that are separated from each other by walls and that open in directions crossing the axial direction of the block. The terminal locking device fitted over the terminal accommodating chamber block is advanced in two steps, first into a preliminary-engagement state and then into a full-engagement state with respect to the connector housing. The terminal locking device has resilient deflecting plates which have terminal locking projections formed on the inner side thereof that protrude through the openings into the terminal accommodating chambers. In the preliminary-engagement state, the resilient deflecting plates ride on tapered projections formed on the outer wall surfaces of the terminal accommodating chamber block, holding the terminal locking projections out of a terminal lug insertion path in the terminal accommodating chambers. This allows the terminal lug to be pulled out easily from the connector.
