    摘要: A low refractive index composition is provided comprising the reaction product of: (i) a cross-linkable polymer; (ii) a multiolefinic crosslinker; and (iii) a plurality of solid nanosilica particles; (iv) a plurality of porous nanosilica particles; (v) an oxysilane having at least one polymerizable functional group and at least one of a hydrolysis and condensation product of said oxysilane; and (vi) a free radical polymerization initiator; wherein the volume percent of the solid nanosilica particles is greater than 0 and less than or equal to about 20; the sum of the volume percent of the solid nanosilica particles and the volume percent of the porous nanosilica particles is less than or equal to about 45; and wherein volume percent is based on the sum of the dry volumes of the cross-linkable polymer, the multiolefinic crosslinker, the solid nanosilica particles and the porous nanosilica particles. Further provided is a liquid mixture for forming a low refractive index coating, an article comprising a substrate having an anti-reflective coating, and a method for forming an anti-reflective coating on a substrate.

    摘要: A low refractive index composition is provided comprising the reaction product of: a fluoroelastomer having at least one cure site; a multiolefinic crosslinker; an oxysilane having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of acryloyloxy and methacryloyloxy, and at least one of a hydrolysis and condensation product of the oxysilane; a free radical polymerization initiator; and a plurality of solid nanosilica particles having at least about 20% but less than 100% of reactive silanols functionalized with an unreactive substituent. The present invention further provides a liquid mixture for forming a low refractive index composition, an article including a substrate having an anti-reflective coating, and a method for forming an anti-reflective coating on a substrate.

    摘要: Optical articles, such as displays, optical lenses, windows, optical polarizers and transparent films are made as a composite structure comprising a substrate and an anti-reflective coating applied to the substrate. The anti-reflective coating comprises: A) a fluoroelastomer having cures sites selected from the group consisting of bromine atoms, chlorine atoms, iodine atoms, non-conjugated dienes, and mixtures of two or more thereof; and B) a non-fluorinated multiolefinic cross linking agent. The surface of the substrate may be treated by simultaneously bombarding the surface with an ionized inert gas, and etching the surface with an ionized reactive gas, so as to improve the adhesion of the coating to the substrate.

    摘要: An organic polymeric optical waveguide or optical fiber and methods of making same are described herein. The waveguide can be used in an integrated optical waveguide device. The polymer is a homo- or copolymer having an olefinic backbone with a pendant group comprising fluorinated aromatic and aliphatic moieties, and is cross-linkable. Polymers having refractive index over a wide range may be prepared by selecting specific constituents of the pendant group thereby permitting the fabrication of optical waveguide tailored for a particular application.
