摘要: A hot-rolled stainless steel strip contains at least 10 wt % Cr and 1.0 wt % or less of Si, and has a controlled scale thickness of not more than 2.5 .mu.m in the surface layer. The average thickness of the Si-containing oxide layer formed in the scale/alloy substitute interface is 0.1 .mu.m or less. The hot-rolled stainless steel strip is produced by hot rolling at an elongation rate of at least 150 or hot rough rolling to form a sheet bar, descaling by spraying superhigh pressure water to the surface of the sheet bar at an impact pressure (p) of 25 kgf/cm.sup.2 or more and a flow rate density of 0.002 l/cm.sup.2 or more, and then finish rolling so that the maximum reduction ratio per pass satisfies certain disclosed criteria.

摘要: The invention provides hot-rolled steel strips which, after having been acid-pickled, can be directly used. The strips have no Cr-decreasing layer and no shot blasted marks on their surface and have good corrosion resistance. The invention also provides a technique of efficiently producing the hot-rolled steel strips. A steel slab having a Cr content of from 6.0 to 25.0 wt. % is hot-rolled, then coiled at a temperature not higher than 700° C., then optionally quenched in water immediately after the coiling, then annealing in a reducing atmosphere, and thereafter acid-pickled in a solution of nitric acid/hydrochloric acid.

摘要: This invention relates to a process for the production of stainless steel sheets and proposes a process for the production of stainless steel sheets having a more excellent corrosion resistance as compared with the conventional one without trimming the steel sheet surface after annealing-pickling by preventing the chapping of steel sheet surface created in the production of present stainless steel sheet, particularly stainless steel sheets having extreme-low amounts of C, S, O.For this purpose, according to the invention, a starting material of stainless steel containing C: not more than 0.01 wt %, S: not more than 0.005 wt % and O: not more than 0.005 wt % is subjected to a hot rolling at a draft below 830.degree. C. of not less than 30%, cooled at a cooling rate of not less than 25.degree. C. sec, coiled below 650.degree. C. and then annealed and pickled.

摘要: An alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel sheet is obtained by forming a hot-dip galvanized layer on the surface of the steel sheet and then alloying the steel sheet. The steel sheet exhibits a potential of −850 mV or less when it is immersed in a zinc sulfate-sodium chloride electrolyte. Alternatively, when it is electrolyzed according to constant potential electrolysis process in a zinc sulfate-sodium chloride electrolyte at a potential in a range from −940 mV to −920 mV, the quantity of electricity consumed is less than or equal to 0.5 C/cm2. The steel sheet exhibits excellent processability and particularly excellent sliding property.

摘要: The present invention provides a stainless steel having superior corrosion resistance, antibacterial properties, and durability, the antibacterial properties being maintained after surface treatments commonly performed including, for example, polishing. In particular, the stainless steel contains not less than 10 percent by weight of chromium, 0.001 to 0.30 percent by weight of silver, or further contains 0.001 to 1.0 percent by weight of vanadium. In addition, not less than 0.0005 weight percent of a silver oxide, the amount thereof being not more than 1.1 times that of the silver, is dispersed in the stainless steel. In order to homogeneously disperse the silver oxide in the stainless steel, when continuous casting of molten steel is performed, the casting rate for the continuous casting is preferably 0.8 to 1.6 m/min. A method for manufacturing the stainless steel is also disclosed.

摘要: An optical disk is adapted for use in an optical disk unit which irradiates a light beam spot on a target track on the optical disk and controls tracking of the light beam spot based on a tracking error signal which is generated based on a reflected light beam from the optical disk. The optical disk includes a disk shaped substrate, a spiral or concentric guide tracks provided on the substrate, a writable region provided on the substrate between two mutually adjacent track turns of the guide track, and a preformed track provided within the guide track and prerecorded with read-only information in a form of variations of a topological feature. The guide track and the topological feature have mutually different height positions so that a tracking error signal which is generated when the light beam spot scans the guide track has the same amplitude as a tracking error signal which is generated when the light beam spot scans the preformed track, and the height positions of the guide track and the topological feature are different from a height position which generates a maximum tracking error signal amplitude when scanned by the light beam spot.
