摘要: A process for separating a first gas, for example CO2, from a feed gas mixture comprising the first gas and a second gas, for example H2, in five or more adsorption beds each containing an adsorbent selective for the first gas. The process comprises subjecting each of the adsorption beds to a repetitive cycle comprising, in sequence, (a) a feed step, (b) a rinse step, (c) a pressure decreasing equalization step, (d) a blowdown step, (e) an evacuation step, (f) a pressure increasing equalization step, and (g) a repressurization step. The feed gas mixture may be a reformate from a steam-hydrocarbon reforming process.

摘要: Method of operating a pressure swing adsorption system having a plurality of parallel adsorber vessels and a plurality of valves and gas manifolds adapted to introduce gas into each adsorber vessel and withdraw gas from each adsorber vessel in a cyclic series of sequential process steps. A leaking valve may be identified by (1) determining a value of an operating parameter that is a function of the mass of gas provided to a receiving adsorber vessel or withdrawn from an adsorber vessel during a selected process step, portion of a process step, or series of process steps; (2) determining the deviation of the value of the operating parameter from a predetermined reference value; and (3) using the magnitude and direction of the deviation to determine whether any valves are leaking.

摘要: A method to reduce the cycle time in a pressure swing adsorption process by reducing the required pressure equalization time in a cycle, thereby reducing the overall cycle time and increasing product recovery per unit of adsorbent used. This reduces the amount of adsorbent required in the beds for a given feed rate while continuing to provide product at an acceptable product purity, and has the desirable effect of reducing the capital cost of the process equipment required for a given volumetric production rate.

摘要: A process for the clean-up of a crude syngas stream having widely varying composition and particulate load. The process includes quenching the crude syngas stream with a liquid stream to cool the syngas stream and remove particulates, tars and heavier hydrocarbon compounds. The process further includes co-scrubbing the syngas stream to remove both HCl and NH3 from the syngas stream, removing particulate matter from the syngas stream, and removing sulfur from the syngas stream. A syngas treatment system is also disclosed.
