Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic resin having excellent non-whitening properties, impact strength, gloss, and fluidity, and a method of preparing the thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin includes an alkyl acrylate-alkyl methacrylate graft copolymer (A), or the copolymer (A) and a matrix resin (B) including an alkyl methacrylate polymer and/or an alkyl methacrylate-alkyl acrylate copolymer. A transparency of the thermoplastic resin having a thickness of 0.15 mm is less than 2, a total content of the alkyl acrylate in the thermoplastic resin is 20 to 50% by weight, and a butyl acrylate coverage value (X) as calculated by Equation 1 below is 50 or more: X={(G−Y)/Y}×100, [Equation 1] wherein G represents a total gel content (%) of the thermoplastic resin, and Y represents a content (% by weight) of butyl acrylate in the gel of the thermoplastic resin.

More particularly, the present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition including 40 to 70% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyan compound copolymer as a matrix resin; 20 to 40% by weight of an acrylic graft copolymer (a) in which 46 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyan compound copolymer is grafted to 5 to 54% by weight of a (meth)acrylate-based rubbery polymer having an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 1 μm; 1 to 10% by weight of an acrylic graft copolymer (b) in which 5 to 45% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyan compound copolymer is grafted to 55 to 95 % by weight of a (meth)acrylate-based rubbery polymer having an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 1 μm; and 1 to 20% by weight of a large-diameter diene-based graft copolymer (c) in which 80 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyan compound copolymer is grafted to 5 to 20% by weight of a diene-based rubbery polymer having an average particle diameter of 1 to 20 μm, and thus, providing superior low-gloss characteristic, weather resistance, and mechanical properties, and an extruded article manufactured from the same.

In accordance with the present disclosure, a thermoplastic resin composition that exhibits glossy effect by injection molding and matte effect by extrusion molding while providing superior mechanical strength and thus is applicable to both glossy products and matte products, and a molded article manufactured from the same are provided.

In this case, the rubber core has an average particle diameter of 40 to 100 nm, the graft copolymer (A) has a grafting degree of 20 to 100%, and the thermoplastic resin composition has a refractive index of greater than 1.46 and less than 1.49 and a blackness (L value) of less than 25.0.
