摘要: A separator for an electrochemical device provided with a porous coating layer including multiple types of binder resins, and a method for manufacturing the same. The separator shows high adhesion between an electrode and the separator, even when any separate adhesive layer is not disposed on the surface of the separator. In addition, the separator shows higher adhesion to an electrode, as compared to a separator using a fluorinated binder resin, such as polyvinylidene fluoride, used conventionally in the art. Therefore, when introducing the separator to a battery, it is possible to manufacture an electrode assembly under a mild temperature and pressure condition, to improve the productivity of assemblage, to reduce defect generation, and thus to increase the yield. Further, the separator shows high affinity to an electrolyte, as compared to a semi-crystalline polymer, such as a fluorinated binder resin, and thus improves the output characteristics of a battery.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a separator for a lithium secondary battery comprising a porous substrate, and a porous coating layer disposed on at least one surface of the porous substrate and comprising inorganic particles and binder polymer, wherein the binder polymer is terpolymer including 65 to 90 weight % of a repeat unit derived from vinylidenefluoride (VDF), 1 to 28 weight % of a repeat unit derived from hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and 5 to 28 weight % of a repeat unit derived from chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE), and the separator has adhesiveness towards electrode ranging from 30 gf/25 mm to 150 gf/25 mm and machine direction (MD) thermal shrinkage of 1 to 18% and transverse direction (TD) thermal shrinkage of 1 to 17%, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same, wherein the separator has uniform micropores on the surface, and thus has the increased adhesive surface area with electrode and consequential improved adhesiveness towards electrode.

摘要: A separator and an electrochemical device comprising same are provided. The separator includes a porous polymer substrate having a plurality of pores; a first porous coating layer on one surface of the porous polymer substrate; and a second porous coating layer on the other surface of the porous polymer substrate. The first porous coating layer includes a plurality of first inorganic particles and first binder particles on a part or all of the surface of the first inorganic particles to connect and fix the first inorganic particles. The second porous coating layer includes a plurality of second inorganic particles and second binder particles on a part or all of the surface of the second inorganic particles to connect and fix the second inorganic particles. The average particle diameter of the second binder particles is at least 10-fold larger than the average particle diameter of the first binder particles.

The method for manufacturing a separator includes applying a solvent for pore impregnation onto a first surface of a porous polymer substrate, before applying slurry for forming a first porous coating layer and a second porous coating layer. In this manner, it is possible to provide a separator which has a small deviation in physical properties between the porous coating layers on the first surface and the second surface of the porous polymer substrate.
