摘要:
Methods and systems for calibrating a nuclear medicine imaging are provided. One method includes acquiring spatially determined non-uniform radiation flux information from a calibration scan of a calibration source using a gamma camera having an attached non-parallel-hole collimator. The method further includes determining a measured non-uniform count density profile from the acquired non-uniform radiation flux information. The method also includes creating a gamma camera uniformity correction map derived from (i) the measured non-uniform count density profile and (ii) a modeled or calculated non-uniform count density profile for calibrating the NM imaging system.

A method for producing a PET image of a tissue using a PET scanner, the scanner comprising a plurality of scintillation crystals (70X/75X) and a plurality of detectors (71X/76X). The method comprises forming a first crystal group (160X) including a first subset of the plurality of crystals; forming a second crystal group (164X) including a second subset of the plurality of crystals, wherein crystals comprising the first crystal group (160X) are different from crystals comprising the second crystal group (164X); converting a first beam (120) striking one or more crystals of the first crystal group (70X/160X) to a first electrical signal (94); converting a second beam striking one or more crystals of the second crystal group (75X/164X) to a second electrical signal (98), wherein the second beam is scattered from the first beam; determining one or both of a first and a second timing relationship, wherein the first timing relationship (Δt2) is a time interval between a value of the first electrical signal (94) and a time reference (t1), and the second timing relationship (Δt3) is a time interval between a value of the second electrical signal (98) and the time reference (t1); correcting the second electrical signal (98) to produce a corrected second electrical signal using a correction factor derived from at least one of the first and the second timing relationships to compensate for energy in the second signal scattered from the first signal; and creating an image of the tissue (12) using the corrected second electrical signal.

Embodiments relate to an imaging system that includes a collimator assembly having one or more pinhole apertures therein. The imaging system is configured so that one or more of the pinhole apertures has an adjustable focal length. The imaging system further includes a detector assembly configured to generate one or more signals in response to gamma rays that pass through the one or more pinhole apertures. Embodiments also relate to methods of changing collimator performance and methods of imaging a volume.

Methods and systems for processing a set of images are described. In accordance with this disclosure, images are registered and an analysis is performed in view of one or more constraints (such as constraints based upon anatomical or physiological considerations). Weighting factors are determined based on the analysis. The weighting factors are used in subsequent processing of the registered (and/or unregistered) images and/or to formulate a visualization that conveys the degree of confidence in the motion estimation used in the registration process.

A system and method for collimation in diagnostic imaging systems is provided. One collimator includes a plurality of parallel hole segments and a plurality of collimator bores within each of the plurality of parallel hole segments. Additionally, all of the plurality of collimator bores in at least one of the plurality of parallel hole segments have a first pointing direction and all of the plurality of collimator bores in at least one other of the plurality of parallel hole segments have a second pointing direction, wherein the plurality of parallel hole segments are arranged in a fanbeam collimation configuration. Further, the first pointing direction is different than the second pointing direction.
