    摘要: Navigation systems for use in indoor environments may include a navigation system that can calculate the time of flight of signals between a navigation device and a WiFi Access Point. Such a calculation can be more accurate not just by using more accurate oscillators in devices, but by correcting the relative error between two devices. This error may be found by determining a timing offset correction, the difference in accuracy between the navigation device and the WiFi Access Point. This may be performed by performing a fine frequency estimation on a long training field or by receiving the PPM offset from another device. Once the PPM offset is determined, the accuracy of the navigation device can be improved by a factor of 50 using a series of equations described in the disclosure.

    摘要: Mobile communication stations (STA) and a method for position estimation in a wireless network having access points (APs) are disclosed. The STA is configured to perform position estimation operations, with respect to the APs, based on a position latency parameter, a rate parameter, a power parameter, and an accuracy parameter. An upper layer of the STA may send the parameters to a position provider that generates the position estimation measurements and transmits the results back to the upper layer wherein the results include the position of the STA prior to the present time and the length of time from the present time to the time that the STA was at that particular position.

In some examples a method for determining a time-of-flight (ToF) of a wireless signal in a multipath wireless environment may comprise receiving two or more wireless signals over a wireless communication channel from wireless device, determining a maximum likelihood solution for identifying a line-of-sight (LoS) signal of the two or more wireless signals, reducing the complexity of the maximum likelihood solution, determining a time that maximizes the reduced complexity maximum likelihood solution, and determining the ToF of the LoS signal based on the reduced complexity maximum likelihood solution and the determined time.
