Abstract: An opioid overdose monitoring system configured to generate an overdose risk score of a user of a wearable device can include a physiological sensor coupled to the wearable device having one or more light emitting diodes of the physiological sensor configured to transmit an optical radiation into the tissue site of the user. One or more detectors of the physiological sensor can respond to an intensity of the optical radiation after absorption by the tissue site of the user. At least one hardware processor in communication with the physiological sensor can determine a plurality of parameters based at least on the attenuated light, determine a plurality of characteristics based on the plurality of parameters associated with at least one of instantaneous values and historical physiological parameter, determining an overdose risk score, determine an alarm level, and implement an intervention associated with the determined alarm level.

Abstract: A noninvasive blood pressure monitor. The noninvasive blood pressure monitor may include an inflatable cuff, a pressure transducer, one or more air pumps, and a processor. The processor may control the air pump(s) so as to initiate inflation of the cuff. The processor may also identify an oscillometric signal in an output of the pressure transducer, and may determine an envelope of the oscillometric signal. The processor may also determine one or more characteristics of the envelope of the oscillometric signal, and may control the air pump(s) so as to stop inflation of the cuff based on the one or more characteristics of the envelope of the oscillometric signal.

Abstract: A system for remotely monitoring and managing health statuses of a plurality of users includes software instructions storable on a memory device usable by a computing device, the software instructions causing a hardware processor of the computing device to receive a plurality of sets of health-related information from a plurality of mobile computing devices of a plurality of users. The health-related information includes physiological information derived from wearable devices of the users indicative of an onset of symptoms associated with an infection, contact tracing data, and diagnosis data. The hardware processor determines exposure levels based on at least the contact tracing data, and determines user-specific risk states based on physiological information, diagnosis data, and exposure levels.

Abstract: An autonomous drug delivery system advantageously utilizes physiological monitor outputs so as to automatically give a bolus of a rescue drug or other necessary medication when certain criteria and confidence levels are met. An emergency button is provided to manually trigger administration of the rescue drug. The rescue drug may be an opioid antagonist in response to an analgesia overdose, a hypotensive drug to avert an excessive drop in blood pressure or an anti-arrhythmia drug to suppress abnormal heartbeats, to name a few.

Abstract: An overdose of opioids can cause the user to stop breathing, resulting in death. A physiological monitoring system monitors respiration based on oxygen saturation readings from a fingertip pulse oximeter in communication with a smart mobile device and sends opioid monitoring information from the smart mobile device to an opioid overdose monitoring service. The opioid overdose monitoring service notifies a first set of contacts when the opioid monitoring information indicates a non-distress stats and notifies a second set of contact when the opioid monitoring information indicates an overdose event. The notification can be a phone call or text message to a specified person, emergency personnel, or first responders, and can include the location of the smart mobile device. The smart mobile device can also include the location of the nearest treatment center having emergency medication used in treating opioid overdose, such as naloxone.

Abstract: Continuous core body temperature measurements are made during hypothermic operations, where the core body temperature of the patient is lowered to reduce swelling. Caregivers monitor the patient's core body temperature to prevent damage that can occur to the patient if the patient's core body temperature becomes too low. To accurately determine the core body temperature of the patient, a temperature monitoring system measures the temperature at or near the surface of the patient and through at least a portion of a thermal block at multiple locations.
