    Abstract: A side airbag device includes an inflator; and a bag-shaped airbag inflatable and deployable in response to a gas upon activation of the inflator. The airbag includes a torso protection portion inflatable and deployable in a space beside a torso of the occupant, a support portion provided on a console box side of the torso protection portion and configured to be pushed onto a top surface of the console box in an inflated and deployed state, and a hip protection portion inflatable and deployable between a hip of the occupant and a lateral portion of the console box. The support portion and the hip protection portion are defined by a continuous chamber. The inflator is positioned from above to below the support portion in a side view of the vehicle. The airbag is mounted on a lateral portion of the vehicle seat via the inflator.

    Abstract: A side door comprises a door panel portion and a reinforcement portion (a rear-side reinforcement portion and others). The reinforcement portion is provided at at least one of a corner portion positioned between a lower portion and a front-side portion of a peripheral part of the door panel portion and another corner portion positioned between the lower portion and a rear-side portion of the peripheral part of the door panel portion such that the reinforcement portion overlaps with a vehicle-body frame member in a vehicle side view. The reinforcement portion is provided with a curved portion at an inside part of the corner portion where the reinforcement portion is provided. The curved portion is configured to be curved convexly toward an outside part of the corner portion in the vehicle side view.

    Abstract: An air bag device is provided for a vehicle provided with at least two rows of seats including a front seat and a rear seat arranged in a front-rear direction, and configured such that relative positions of the front seat and the rear seat in the front-rear direction are changeable. The air bag device is mounted on a rear surface of a seatback of at least the front seat.     Abstract: A tubular body (1) made of a fiber-reinforced plastic and used as a structural material of a vehicle includes corners (4) extending along an axis of the tubular body (1) on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The tubular body (1) is a tubular laminate that is formed by laminating a fabric layer (12) formed by laminating fabric materials and unidirectional material layers (11, 13). Each fabric material includes a fabric in which reinforcing fibers are woven and a plastic with which the fabric is impregnated. Each unidirectional material layer (11, 13) includes reinforcing fibers oriented in one direction and a plastic with which the reinforcing fibers are impregnated. The reinforcing fibers of each unidirectional material layer (11, 13) are oriented along the axis of the tubular laminate.     Abstract: A side airbag device includes an inflator and an airbag. The airbag includes a deployable bag and a separator that separates the bag into a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes a support inflation portion and a protection inflation portion. The support inflation portion is deployable in such a shape that it gradually broadens from its lower end portion toward its upper end portion along a seat-side portion. The protection inflation portion is deployable at one end side of the support inflation portion. The inflator is disposed to supply a gas into the support inflation portion. The separator includes at least one gas distribution hole in a portion thereof that separates the support inflation portion of the first chamber and the second chamber from each other. The second chamber is provided below the first chamber.
