    Abstract: Provided is a fiber reinforced plastic member made by a braiding technique to obtain high rigidity and superior vibration damping performance under a bending load. A reinforcing member made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic resin extends in a specific direction along an axis of the reinforcing member and includes a carbon fiber braided structure. The carbon fiber braided structure has a structure in which a plurality of axial yarns, a plurality of first braid yarns, and a plurality of second braid yarns are braided. A plurality of first braid yarns are wound to intersect the axis at a first braid angle. A plurality of second braid yarns are wound to intersect the axis at a second braid angle. The first braid yarns and the second braid yarns intersect each other. The reinforcing member has a region approximately in the longitudinal middle where the first braid angle and the second braid angle of the first braid yarns and the second braid yarns take values larger than in other region regarding the longitudinal direction.

    Abstract: A fiber bundle winding device includes: a traverse guide configured to guide a fiber bundle to a bobbin; and a controller configured to control the traverse guide according to a rotation of the bobbin. The traverse guide is movable parallel to a center axis of the bobbin. The controller can perform: first movement control that moves the traverse guide to wind the fiber bundle onto the bobbin in a predetermined first area extending in a direction of the center axis of the bobbin; and second movement control that moves the traverse guide to wind the fiber bundle onto the bobbin in a second area being smaller than the first area and having ends that are located within the first area and at different positions from respective ends of the first area. The first movement control and second movement control are performed at a ratio of N:1 (N is an integer more than 1).

    Abstract: A tow prepreg manufacturing apparatus applies resin to an original tow of reinforcing fibers. The tow prepreg manufacturing apparatus includes an oiling roller, a scraper, a resin reservoir, a tube pump, and a controller. The oiling roller is supplied with resin while rotating at a predetermined rotation speed. The scraper adjusts the shape of the resin supplied onto the oiling roller. The resin reservoir supplies resin to the oiling roller. The tube pump discharges resin to the resin reservoir. The controller controls the tube pump so that the amount of resin held in the resin reservoir remains constant and controls the rotation speed of the oiling roller so that a resin content of a wound tow prepreg becomes equal to a target resin content.

    Abstract: A fiber-reinforced member includes: a base member having a tubular region with an outer circumferential surface extending along and substantially in parallel with an axial direction; and a fiber-reinforced resin layer constituted of a tow prepreg wound in an overlapping manner to cover the outer circumferential surface of the base member along a predetermined direction crossing the axial direction when viewed in a radial direction of the base member, the tow prepreg serving as a widened tape-like member. The tape-like member constituting the fiber-reinforced resin layer has a portion having a fiber line extending along a direction crossing the predetermined direction.     Abstract: A tubular body (1) made of a fiber-reinforced plastic and used as a structural material of a vehicle includes corners (4) extending along an axis of the tubular body (1) on an outer circumferential surface thereof.
