Thus it becomes possible to record video data and plural channels of language data on a record medium so that a reproducing channel for the language data matched to the reproducing pattern of the video data will be selected and the plural channels of language data matched to the reproducing pattern and the video data will be reproduced by a reproducing system.

    摘要： A video data transmission method and apparatus for transmitting video encoded data with intra-coded video data portions therein suitable for selective high speed reproduction. A first entry point is detected in the encoded data which corresponds to the position of a first intra-coded video data portion. At least one packet is generated on the basis of the decoded first entry point that includes position information relating to at least one second entry point and at least one additional information relating to the video encoded data. The second entry point exists in a forward direction or in a backward direction relative to the first entry point and corresponds to position of at least one second intra-coded video data portion. The packet is multiplexed at a predetermined position of the video encoded data, wherein the multiplexed video encoded data is suitable for selective high speed reproduction of the intra-coded video data portions.

    摘要： A data multiplexer for multiplexing at least digital moving picture data and pattern data (character data) comprises a packetizing means for forming the digital moving picture data and the pattern data into PES packets of a predetermined format based on the MPEG-2 standard, each packet consisting of a header and an actual data region; an adding means for adding, to the header of each packet, a flag to identify the moving picture data and the pattern data; and a means for multiplexing the packets. An ID flag recorded in the header of each PES packet serves to identify a video packet, an audio packet or a pattern data packet. Each packet of the pattern data and the digital moving picture data includes a time stamp indicative of decode or display timing. In this data multiplexer, the pattern data (character data) on any horizontal scanning line can be multiplexed and recorded with the digital moving picture data.
