摘要: Novel flame retarding compounds that comprise at least one sterically hindered nitroxyl, hydroxylamine or hydrocarbyloxyamine moiety and at least one conventional organohalogen or organophosphorus flame retardant moiety, represented by where HA is independently of each other a sterically hindered nitroxyl, sterically hindered hydroxylamine or sterically hindered hydrocarbyloxyamine moiety, L is independently of each other a direct bond or chemical linking group, FRM is independently of each other an organohalogen or an organophosphorus flame retardant moiety, and x, y and z are each independently greater than or equal to 1, are especially effective towards providing flame retardancy to organic polymer substrates.

摘要: Polymeric substrates, for example polyolefins such as polypropylene, can be made flame retardant by the incorporation therein of a synergistic mixture of (i.) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of nitroxyl stabilizers, hydroxylamine stabilizers, nitrone stabilizers, substituted hydroxylamine stabilizers, amine oxide stabilizers, benzofuranone stabilizers, phosphite and phosphonite stabilizers, quinone methide stabilizers and monoacrylate esters of 2,2′-alkylidenebisphenol stabilizers and (ii.) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of brominated flame retardants, phosphorus containing flame retardants and inorganic flame retardants such as ammonium polyphosphate or decabromodiphenyl oxide; wherein the amount of organic or inorganic flame retardant of component (ii.) required to achieve an acceptable level of flame retardancy is significantly reduced compared to that needed when component (i.) is not present.

摘要: The present invention is directed towards novel sulfonic acid esters as catalysts for crosslinking of polymers having hydroxyl, carboxyl, and amide functional groups with a crosslinking agent and resin compositions containing the same. The present invention provides polymeric film coatings which have superior hardness, impact resistance, adhesion, improved blister resistance, salt spray characteristics and flexibility. These catalysts are especially effective in coil primer formulations containing calcium ion exchange anticorrosive pigments, where traditional blocked acid catalysts are ineffective.

摘要: This invention relates to lubricating oil additives, and to lubricating oil compositions, their method of preparation, and use. More specifically, this invention relates to several novel lubricating oil additives and compositions which contain a tungsten compound and an antioxidant, namely aminic antioxidants such as a secondary diarylamine or an alkylated phenothiazine. The use of the tungsten compound with the secondary diarylamine and/or the alkylated phenothiazine provides improved oxidation and deposit control to lubricating oil compositions. The lubricating oil compositions of this invention are particularly useful as crankcase and transmission lubricants, gear oils and other high performance lubricant applications.

摘要: Photo-curable coating formulations which comprise a durable and/or red-shifted reactable hydroxyphenylbenzotriazole ultraviolet light absorber (UVA) are effectively photocured employing a combination of α-hydroxy ketone and bisacylphosphine oxide photoinitiators. The reactable UVA's are reacted into the coating upon curing. The combination of the photoinitiators bis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phenylphosphine oxide and 1-hydroxycyclohexylphenylketone is especially effective for this purpose.
