    摘要： An apparatus comprising a transmission system for transmitting an information signal, and a reception system including an information receiving unit for receiving the information signal, and an information recording/reproducing unit for recording/reproducing the received information signal on/from a recording medium. The reception system includes a specific information storage circuit for storing specific information which is assigned peculiarly to the reception system in advance, a specific information donating circuit for adding the specific information to the received information signal or encrypting the received information signal on the basis of the specific information to supply the resulting information signal to the information recording/reproducing unit, and a specific information judgement circuit for receiving an information signal reproduced by the information recording/reproducing unit and verifying the information signal with a condition based on the specific information stored in the specific information storage circuit so that when the condition is satisfied, a signal obtained by deleting the specific information added to the reproduced information signal or by decrypting the encrypted information signal is outputted.

    摘要： By introducing a new copy control system into video signals subjected to picture quality restriction satisfactory only in small-sized PMP displays, a new business model in which copyrighters, consumers and makers can have mutual prosperity is created. “A new copy control rule of prohibiting a video signal output with a picture quality equivalent to that at time of recording from being copied, but permitting a video signal sufficiently degraded in picture quality as compared with time of recording to be copied” is added to the copy-never, copy-one-generation, and copy-free states belonging to the conventional copy control rule. The quality for which the copyrighter can permit copying corresponds to half the current number of DVD pixels. If a quality restricting scheme of thinning out pixels to half compared with time of recording is used, therefore, needs of consumers desiring to enjoy PMPs are satisfied while protecting rights of copyrighters.

    摘要： It is a task of this invention to create a novel system (ubiquitous movie) that brings benefits to both a copyright holder of video information such as movies and general consumers who want to enjoy viewing the video information.As for high image quality video information that the copyright holder wants to keep in a copy prohibited condition or the like, a copyright control such as copy prohibited condition is performed as is done with DVDs. In addition to the high image quality video information, a medium is recorded with another piece of video information whose image quality is limited to less than half the resolution of the high image quality video information, at which level the copyright holder can afford to permit the video information to be copied. This low image quality video information is attached with copyright protection information allowing copy, move and download operations as it is recorded in the medium. From this video information-recorded medium, the video information with the limited resolution is read out and recorded in a small medium that is easy to handle outdoors. The small medium containing the video information with the limited resolution is played in a video player that has a small display showing the played back video information.
