摘要: A method for cooling a display assembly includes forcibly circulating gas about an airflow pathway extending within a housing and surrounding an image assembly. Forcibly ingesting ambient air into the housing through an intake, passing the ingested ambient air within the housing in a manner which provides thermal interaction with the circulating gas in said airflow pathway, and exhausting the ingested ambient air from the housing through an exhaust to cool the circulating gas.

摘要: Systems for forced air cooling of display assemblies are provided. An electronic display subassembly is located behind a cover and includes an interior channel. An open loop centrifugal fan is positioned at an intake or an exhaust and forces ambient air through an open loop pathway when activated. A closed loop airflow pathway encircles the electronic display subassembly. A closed loop centrifugal fan is positioned at a side channel and forces circulating gas through the closed loop airflow pathway. Electronic components for operating the display assembly are provided with the rear compartment.

摘要: A display assembly includes a housing which at least partially encloses an image assembly. A cover positioned forward of, and spaced apart from, the image assembly forms at least a portion of a forward surface of the housing and permits viewing of images displayed at the image assembly therethrough. A fan assembly moves air through an airflow pathway within the housing which includes a front channel between the cover and the image assembly and a rear chamber behind the image assembly. One or more solar energy reduction layers are associated with the cover and prevent at least some ambient sunlight striking the cover from traveling therebeyond.

A solar energy harvesting device and an energy storage device are electrically connected to an electronic display within a housing. A support extends between the housing and the solar energy harvesting device such that a bottom surface of the solar energy harvesting device is elevated directly above, and is spaced apart from, a top surface of the housing. The solar energy harvesting device has a first footprint, and the housing has a second footprint. The first footprint is larger than, and directly overlies, the second footprint.

摘要: Described herein are exemplary embodiments of a light guide assembly for a backlight and backlight assemblies using such light guide assemblies. An exemplary backlight assembly may have a light guide with a pair of opposing edges and a sliding LED subassembly placed along an edge of the light guide and attached to the light guide so that movement of the light guide causes movement of the sliding LED subassembly. In some embodiments, a first slot may be positioned within the light guide where a post extends from the sliding LED subassembly to engage with the first slot in the light guide. In some embodiments, a back pan may be positioned behind the light guide where a post can extend from the back pan to engage with a second slot in the light guide.

摘要: A display assembly which detects abnormal operating conditions, such as gas recirculation or airway occlusion, is provided. An electronic display is located within a housing. An airflow pathway travels through the housing and is configured to accept, circulate, and exhaust air by way of one or more fans. One or more sensors measure characteristics of the air. Weather conditions for a location of the display assembly are gathered, measurements from the sensors are received, and a determination is made as to whether the measurements of the ingested air are within a margin of error expected measurements derived from the gathered weather conditions. An alert is generated if the measurements of the ingested air are not within the margin of error.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments disclosed herein provide a LCD assembly including an LED backlight, a liquid crystal display (LCD) placed in front of the LED backlight, a glass plate positioned between LED backlight and the LCD; and an optical film positioned between the glass plate and the LCD. In some embodiments, the glass plate is bonded to the rear side of the LCD, generally around the perimeter of the LCD. Preferred embodiments place a diffusing film within a cavity that is defined between the glass plate and the LCD. Some embodiments also bond the backlight cavity walls to the glass plate, on a side opposing the LCD.
