摘要： A method and system of remotely communicating embroidery pattern data to embroidery machines involving providing an embroidery pattern in response to a pattern selection input from a remote user at a local node, the input communicated through a communications connection between the local node and a server, receiving an identification address for an embroidery machine, communicating the embroidery pattern to the embroidery machine for application of the embroidery pattern to a work piece. The system includes a server having circuitry for receiving wireless electronic communications, a local node having a graphical user interface for receiving input from a remote user, the local node in wireless electronic communication with the server, a database of electronically encoded data, the data comprising embroidery patterns, the database in communication with the server, and responsive to the local node input, to retrieve embroidery patterns and to display the embroidery patterns through the server to the remote user, and an embroidery machine in communication with the server, the embroidery machine receiving embroidery patterns from the database through the server.

摘要： A method is disclosed where one or more biological stains are applied to living tissue displaying, or suspected of having cells, or parts of the tissue which are diseased, metaplasic, or otherwise abnormal, including but not limited to lesions which may be thought pre-cancerous or cancerous. The stained tissue is then analyzed, in situ, by reflectance spectroscopy, the results of which are then compared to a digital library of reflectance spectrums of such tissue that have been previously diagnosed by conventional histochemical techniques. The method is further disclosed as a means to monitor the progress of photodynamic therapy using the same biological stains as specific photosensitizers.

摘要： A package suitable as a mailer for discs such as compact discs and computer floppy discs includes a retention panel, lateral engagement sections and disc retainment tabs. The lateral engagement sections have an arc-like cutout along one edge. The lateral engagement sections are layed upon a portion of the retention panel such that the arc-like cutout of each lateral engagement section substantially corresponds to an edge of the disc. The lateral engagement sections define a space over the retention panel sufficient for accommodating and for providing lateral retention of the disc. The package also includes disc retainment tabs layed over the lateral engagement sections. The disc retainment tabs extend beyond the lateral engagement sections over at least a portion of the first surface of the retention panel to substantially engage at least a portion of a surface of the disc to retain the disc therein.

摘要： A hand held device for examining a patient's retina. In one example, the device generates visible or non-visible illuminating beams having desired spectral content. The illuminating beams are then polarized to generate polarized light beam(s) that are directed towards the patient's retina. At the patient's eye, a portion of the polarized beam is partially reflected by the cornea and travels back to the device, and another portion of the polarized beam enters the eye through the undilated pupil, illuminates the patient's retina, and generates a reflected retinal image (generally de-polarized) which also travels back to the device. The device receives the retinal image and transmits certain portions of the retinal image on through to an image detector (i.e., CCD or CMOS); and the device deflects the received polarized corneal reflections away from the image capture device. Hence, the image capture device receives retinal images but does not receive the polarized corneal reflected light.

In addition to flowing exhaust gas(es) (28, 128) in heat and energy exchange relation with inlet air through a primary energy recovery device (ERD) (30) of the gas/gas type, a supplemental ERD (50) of the gas/liquid (water) type uses water temperature to passively condense moisture from a gas stream, either of inlet air or of exhaust gas, to regulate the dew point of the air supplied to the combustion-supported reaction means (20, 120). The supplemental ERD (50) may have a gas channel (134) and a water channel (132) separated by an enthalpy exchange barrier (136), and may be relatively upstream or downstream of the primary ERD (30) relative to the flow of inlet air through the latter to regulate dew point indirectly or directly, respectively.

摘要： A package suitable as a mailer for discs such as compact discs and computer floppy discs, has folded panels including a disc retention panel having a retaining tab thereon, and a pocket panel. The retention panel has raised sidewalls with edges facing each other and which are contoured to accommodate insertion of a disc therebetween. Tabs extend from an end of each of the sidewalls and toward the other of the sidewalls so as to define a space over the retention panel sufficient for accommodating a thickness of the disc and for retaining the disc in the package. The disc package has four spines at four respective side edges thereof to strengthen the disc package and to protect the disc retained in the disc package.
