摘要: A system for a clinical lab that is capable of automatically processing, including sorting, of multiple specimen containers. The system comprises a central controller, a workstation, one or more analyzers, and an automated centrifuge. The workstation has automatic detectors for detecting the presence of a holder holding specimen containers. The workstation has a bar code reader for reading bar codes on the containers. The system has a transport subsystem, preferably a workstation robotic arm and an analyzer robotic arm for transporting the specimen containers, moving them to and from the workstation, to and from the analyzers, and to and from the centrifuge. The centrifuge is loaded with buckets containing specimen containers. The workstation can be provided with a balance system for balancing the weight of the buckets used. The workstation can also have a decapper for automatically removing caps from the specimen containers.

摘要: A retractable stethoscope comprising a case, at least one piece of acoustic tubing, at least one ear piece, and a chest piece. The chest piece is coupled to one end of the acoustic tubing, and at least one ear piece is coupled to another end of the acoustic tubing. The length of the acoustic tubing may extend from and retract into the case from the ear piece end, the chest piece end of the acoustic tubing, or both ends either independently or simultaneously. The retractable stethoscope may further comprise a belt clip.

摘要: A method of coating a surface of an article with a chemical vapour deposition coating such as a diamond like carbon by, for example, pulse DC PACVD or RF PACVD, comprising providing an active electrode, shielding the active electrode with a dielectric shield having at least one aperture to permit access to the active electrode, closing the aperture with a dielectricly shielded support post comprising an electively conductive core in electrical communication via the aperture with the active electrode, placing an article to be coated on the dielectricly shielded support post in electrical communication with the electively conductive core and applying a plasma to the article in presence of an electrical current to the article to provide a coating. The article may be, for example, a piston. A contiguous array of a plurality of similar articles may be simultaneously coated by the method.
