    摘要: An electrophotographic printing machine has a photoreceptive member. The photoreceptive member is charged and then exposed with a light image representation to form a latent image. An electric field, less than that required to re-charge the photoreceptive member, is applied to the latent image to increase the rate of discharge of the exposed portions of the latent image. The latent image is then developed.

    摘要: A ghost removing device for a marking apparatus includes a photoreceptor, a primary charging device, an erase light generating device to generate an erase light when activated, a voltage source to supply a charge voltage to the primary charging device, and a controller configured to control the at least one voltage source to supply the charge voltage to the primary charging device and to activate the erase light generating device substantially simultaneously after transfer of a toned image within a marking cycle. A ghost removing method for a marking device with a photoreceptor, including performing a partial print cycle, applying an erase light to the photoreceptor, and applying a charge voltage to the photoreceptor, wherein the erase light and the charge voltage are applied to the photoreceptor substantially simultaneously after completion of the partial cycle.

    摘要: An apparatus for applying an electrical charge to a charge retentive surface by transporting ions through an ionically conductive liquid and transferring the ions to the member to be charged across the liquid/charge retentive surface interface. The ionically conductive liquid is contacted with the charge retentive surface for depositing ions onto the charge retentive surface via a wetted donor blade supported within a conductive housing, wherein the housing is coupled to an electrical power supply for applying an electrical potential to the ionically conductive liquid. In one specific embodiment, the charging apparatus includes a support blade for urging the donor blade into contact with the charge retentive surface and a wiping blade for wiping any liquid from the surface of the charge retentive surface as may have been transferred to the surface at the donor blade/charge retentive surface interface.
