    摘要： Disclosed is a method of preparing a salt composition comprising mixing a salt and an ingredient, pressing the salt and ingredient together under pressure to form an agglomerated salt and ingredient composition in the form of a sheet, briquette, pellet, flake or other form, and reducing the salt and ingredient composition into particulates having a desirable size, where the particulates form a substantially uniform blended product of the salt and the ingredient. In one embodiment, the salt composition may be sodium chloride or a sea salt and a seasoning or flavoring agent.

    摘要： An apparatus and methods for softening water is disclosed. In particular, an apparatus and method for softening water without the addition of ions the wastewater stream is disclosed. The apparatus generally includes at least one nanofiltration filter element configured and arranged to receive an input flow of hard water, discharge an output flow of permeate water comprising a portion of the input flow, and discharge an output flow of non-permeate water comprising a portion of the input flow. The nanofiltration filter element typically has an average pore size that permits the passage of water and monovalent ions but substantially prevents the passage of divalent ions.

    摘要： Disclosed is a flow-through sodium chloride crystallizer comprised of a vertically-oriented crystallizer body having at least two segments of different cross-sectional area, at least two inlets for the introduction of saturated MgCl.sub.2 brine at minimum of two distinct vertical locations having different cross-sectional areas along the crystallizer body, at least two inlets for the introduction of a saturated NaCl brine at a minimum of two distinct vertical locations having different cross-sectional areas along the crystallizer body, at least one lower outlet for removal of NaCl crystals and at least one upper outlet for removal of spent brine. Also disclosed is an apparatus for producing hopper-shaped NaCl crystals and/or NaCl crystals of varying, segregated purity, and a process for producing the same.
