    摘要: An image bearing member utilized in an image forming apparatus includes a cylindrical member on which an image is formed on a peripheral surface thereof. An image bearing member further includes a filling-up member which suppresses vibration of the cylindrical member by being inserted into an inner part of the cylindrical member, and an anaerobic adhesive which adheres and fixes an outer peripheral surface of the filling-up member to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member by osmosing into a clearance formed between the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member and the outer peripheral surface of the filling-up member. The anaerobic adhesive is placed inside of an end face of at least one side of the outer peripheral surface of the filling-up member, and an adhesion width is formed wherein the anaerobic adhesive is spread around an entire periphery of the outer peripheral surface of the filling-up member from an end face of the filling-up member. The adhesive can be hardened by use of ultraviolet rays or a lid. Furthermore, gas can be sealed in the inner part of the cylindrical member. A method for manufacturing an image bearing member for an image forming apparatus includes vertically positioning a filling-up member inside a cylindrical member, injecting an anaerobic adhesive between the filling-up member and the cylindrical member, and hardening the anaerobic adhesive after the anaerobic adhesive has osmosed into the clearance between the cylindrical member and the filling-up member.

A corresponding method recovers from a deterioration of an amount of charge of the toner and decreased bulk of the developer, and includes the steps of detecting a developer amount with an unused-state detection switch, detecting an output value of a toner density detecting sensor, agitating the developer, measuring an agitating time period, stopping the agitating operation indicating warning, and indicating error message.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus including an image bearing member, a latent image forming device which forms a latent image on the image bearing member, a developing device which develops the latent image using a two-component developer including a toner and a carrier and a toner supplying device which supplies toner into the developing device. A developer agitating device agitates developer in the developing device and a toner-density detecting device detects a toner density of developer in the developing device. A toner-density control device controls the toner density by operating the toner supplying device on the basis of a detected result according to the toner-density detecting device. A memory device stores resultant value of the toner density detected by the toner-density detecting device during image forming operations. The toner-density detecting device detects the toner density in a warm-up operation before starting the image forming operation by the image forming apparatus. The toner-density control device changes an amount of the toner supply which is supplied by the toner supplying device after starting the image forming operation according to a result of a comparison of the detected toner density in the warm-up operation with the detected result stored in the memory device. A toner conveying member for conveying replenished toner from a toner replenishing portion through a toner replenishing port to a developer stirring and conveying member is constructed by a screw member unitarily formed with the developer stirring and conveying member. The screw member has a spiral conveying fin capable of conveying the replenished toner at relatively high speed. The replenished toner is delivered to a toner replenishing portion provided in the upstream of a developer receiving portion of the screw member.

    摘要: The clean surfaces of rollers in contact with photoconductive element of an image forming apparatus are cleaned of toner and other contaminants by increasing pressure between the contact surfaces of the roller and the photoconductive element during non-sensitive phases of operation, so that toner and other contaminants are transferred from the rollers to the photoconductive element. Alternatively, the rotational speed of the rollers are decreased, increased or reversed during non-sensitive phases of operation to effect transfer of toner and other contaminants to the photoconductive element for removal by the development station and/or development station. The system and cleaning method, which is particularly useful for charging, transfer and discharging rollers, are applicable to image forming apparatus wherein accumulation of toner and other contaminants decreases the quality of reproduction, require troublesome maintenance, decrease the life of the rollers requiring replacement, and prevents a compact image forming apparatus.
