摘要: An optical disc and its manufacturing method in which humps may be prohibited from being formed on an outer rim area of the disc to assure optimum surface properties of a light transmitting layer of the disc to contribute to further increase in recording capacity. On a substrate 2 of an optical disc 1 are sequentially formed a recording portion 6 and a light transmitting layer 5. The light falls on the light transmitting layer 5 to record and/or reproduce information signals for a signal recording area 6a of the substrate 2. The radial distance D from the outermost rim of the substrate 2 to the signal recording area 6a is selected to be larger than the radial width L of a hump 5a formed on the outer rim of the light transmitting layer 5. The hump 5a has a height h from the surface of the light transmitting layer 5 not larger than 70 &mgr;m.

摘要: A high-reliability optical reading apparatus for reading a latent image mark capable of accurately reading the code information of a latent image mark. The optical reading apparatus comprises a light-projecting light member for projecting on a surface of the latent image mark, the light having a wavelength to excite a fluorescent substance contained in the latent image mark having desired information; and a light-receiving member for receiving fluorescence emitted from the surface of the latent image mark. A range in which the latent image mark can be read is formed by setting a point at which the optical axis of the light-projecting member and that of the light-receiving member intersect with each other as a reference. An intersection angle between the two optical axes is preferably in the range of from 10.degree. to 40.degree..

摘要: In an information processing device for use in indicating an operation number of floating point operation elements, such as either vector elements of each vector instruction or scalar instructions, the floating point operation elements are successively counted by an adder and a register to produce operation number signals representative of the results of counting. The operation number signals are periodically read out of the register as preceding and following operation number signals at preceding and following ones of periodical signals sent as a time signal from a digital timer, respectively, and are held in registers. A subtracter subtracts the preceding operation number from the following operation number to calculate a difference signal between the preceding and the following operation numbers and to provide the operation number per unit time. The difference signal is visually displayed on a display unit in real time. Alternatively, each of the preceding and the following operation number signals may be stored in a scalar register together with the time signal.
