    摘要: A multiple antenna cellular network communicates with a mobile station over a plurality of antennas. The antennas are arranged in a plurality of positions to customize a cell or cells. A transceiver is coupled to the antennas and configured to receive inbound information from the mobile station and transmit outbound information to the mobile station. A processor is coupled to the transceiver and configured to decode the inbound information and to encode the outbound information to communicate with the mobile station. In another embodiment, the transmit signal power is continuously modified to move interference nulls to improve quality so that a fixed location user can receive a high quality signal. Exemplary embodiments are provided for use with the Global Systems for Mobile Communication (GSM) protocol and can be applied to other digital technologies.

    摘要: A voltage may be provided to a liquid crystal addressable element as part of a liquid crystal device. The provided voltage may be reduced from a driven state to a relaxed state in a time period greater than 1 μs. The reduction may further be performed in less than 20 ms. The liquid crystal device may be a polarization switch, which in some embodiments may be a multi-segment polarization switch. In one embodiment, pulses of limited duration of a light source may be provided to the polarization switch. The manner of voltage reduction may reduce optical bounce of the liquid crystal device and may allow one or more of the pulses of the light source to be shifted later in time.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for carrying and accessing multiple safety devices, wherein the removal of one safety device simultaneously activates a second safety device. The method includes removing a chemical spray canister secured to a pack body, wherein an activation cord pulls an alarm pin thereby activating an audible alarm. The apparatus includes a spray canister and an audible alarm attached to a pack body, the canister and alarm being concealed by a cover. The cover is attached to the pack body with multiple slide fasteners. The cover has attached thereto a rip cord, so that when the rip cord is pulled by the user, the cover is partially or completely removed to expose the spray canister and the alarm; the spray canister and the alarm are interconnected by a cord so that removal of the spray canister simultaneously activates the audible alarm.
