    摘要: Apparatus, methods, systems and devices for providing a temperature independent laser by determining a temperature dependence of a lasing wavelength, selecting the lasing wavelength having minimal temperature dependence and constraining the lasing wavelength of the laser device to the selected lasing wavelength. In an embodiment, a volumetric Bragg grating in photo-thermal refractive glass is used as a laser cavity mirror for constraining the laser emission at the selected wavelength. The laser device may be a broad spectrum laser such as an Er3+ doped glass broad spectrum laser. In an embodiment, the lasers are operated where the temperature dependence of the stimulated emission cross section is used to compensate for temperature dependent changes of other laser components.

    摘要: Two, three dimensional color displays having uniform dispersion of red, green and blue visible light emitting micron particles. Pumping at approximately 976 nm can generate green and red colors having an approximately 4% limit efficiency. One source can generate three colors with approximately limit efficiency. Modulators, scanners and lens can move and focus laser beams to different pixels forming two dimensional color images. Displays can be formed from near infrared source beams that are simultaneously split and modulated with micro electro mechanical systems, spatial light modulators, liquid crystal displays, digital micromirrors, digital light projectors, grating light valves, liquid crystal silicon devices, polysilicon LCDs, electron beam written SLMs, and electrically switchable bragg gratings. Pixels containing: Yb,Tm:YLF can emit blue light, Yb,Er(NYF) can emit green light, and Yb,Er:KYF and Yb,Ef:YF3 can emit red light.

    摘要: Upconversion methods and devices that converts near-infrared light to the visible spectrum using a rare-earth-doped crystalline host for use as general and decorative lighting. The pseudo-monochromatic output of the processes can be specified by altering the amount and type of rare-earth material used and by selection of an appropriate host. Using rare-earth materials such as ytterbium-erbium or ytterbium-thulium can produce red, green and blue emissions, where the additive mixture of these colors yields a high-quality white light. The materials can be adjusted to achieve white light with any color temperature and high color-rendering index (CRI) for any general and decorative lighting applications both indoors and outdoors.

    摘要: A two and three dimensional display based on up conversion of near infrared light to the visible. The display medium is a transparent polymer containing particles of crystals doped with Yb3+ and other rare earth ions. The Yb3+ ions absorb light from a commercially available diode laser emitting near 975 nm and transfer that energy to the other dopant ions. Using a fluoride crystal host, NaYF4, co-doped with Tm3+ ions we obtain blue light at ˜480 nm, with Ho3+ or Er3+ ions we obtain green light at ˜550 nm and with Er3+ we obtain red light at ˜660 nm. The display medium is also used with a preferred component layout with experimentation test data, along with applications for full color, high brightness, high resolution, displays.

    摘要: A spectroscopic imaging system includes a microscopic or macroscopic device including an objective, a housing including a spectroscope, and scanning means disposed between the objective and the spectroscope. During the scanning of the excitation beam on a scanned area on the sample surface, the energy of the emitted light beam is integrated on the pixels of the detection means, generating average spectral data for each line of pixels. Storage means are connected to the detection means, including a memory able to store average spectral data of M lines of pixels. An imaging device is connected to the storage means, and the average spectral data of M lines of pixels are sent simultaneously toward the imaging device in order to obtain an average spectroscopic image of the scanned area.
