    摘要: A coaxial cable connector is provided for interconnecting coaxial cables having center and outer conductors. The coaxial cable connector includes inner and outer contracts configured to be securable to inner and outer conductors of coaxial cables. A connector housing has a cavity for receiving the inner contact. The outer contacts are secured to the connector housing. A coaxial cable displacement contact section connected to the outer contacts has at least one displacement beam and braid-receiving slot dimensioned to pierce the coaxial cable automatically when the outer conductors are mounted to the coaxial cable connector. The coaxial cable displacement contact section affords an automated and reliable technique for interconnecting contacts and outer coaxial cable conductors.

    摘要: A cable strain relief is provided that includes a cable retention member and a cable support member matable with one another. The cable retention member has a retention body and at least one ribbed arm. The cable retention member also includes a cable grip configured to engage a cable. The cable support member has a support body that is configured to receive a cable along a cable retention passage therethrough. The channel in the cable support member frictionally receives and retains the arm on the cable retention member when the cable retention and support members are joined with one another. The cable grip is configured to securely engage at least a jacket of the cable to resist movement of the cable with respect to the cable support and retention members. Alternatively, different structures and positions for the cable grip may be provided. The cable grip may include a punch-out pattern of teeth in the retention body of the cable retention member. The cable grip may include one or more barbs provided on one or both ends of the retention body and bent inward to face the cable retention passage. The cable grip may include one or more grooves and ridges extending transverse to the cable retention passage to depress the outer surface of the cable, thereby affording better gripping.

The connector includes a contact having a contact mounting edge and a lead interface edge opposite the contact mounting edge. The contacts and shells may be formed with planar conductors aligned parallel to one another with a center conductive strip sandwiched between planar ground strips, all of which are separated by dielectric materials. The widths and thicknesses of the contact and ground planes, the spacing there between and the dielectric materials are manufacturable in an easy, reliable, and cost effective method.

    摘要: A system for conveying chips from a container to a predetermined position on top of a chip socket. A vacuum-held hand tool having a handle is supplied with a vacuum or with a positive air pressure at its working face, as controlled by placement of a digit of the operator with respect to an air exhaust port on the handle. The bottom or working face of the tool is provided with a recess fitting the outline of a chip to be picked up by the tool working face, to hold the chip fixed on the tool as it is carried by the tool to a position atop the socket, where it is discharged by flow of air from the working face when a digit of the operator is applied to the exhaust port of the tool. A first set of pins protruding normally from the working face of the tool assures proper lateral positioning of the tool with respect to the container in which the chip is originally located, by mating with depressions in the container, and a second set of pins protruding from the working face assure proper lateral positioning of the tool and chip with respect to the socket by fitting against the socket near its corners. Indicia on the tool cooperate with corresponding indicia on the container and socket, to aid in proper orientation of tool with chip during pick-up and tool with socket during chip discharge.

    摘要: An improved contact for use in a high density chip carrier socket mounted on a circuit member which utilizes a cover which to wedge the leads of the chip carrier into electrical engagement with a respective contact. A tool receiving recess is incorporated into the contact so that the forces exerted on the socket while pressing the cover into place can be opposed, minimizing the forces exerted on the connection between the socket and the circuit member, typically a solder joint. Providing a tool, that operates from one side of the circuit member, in order to press the cover into place while engaging the contact recess to oppose the insertion related forces, which can also pull the cover from the contacts, without exerting significant forces on the connection, by engaging a lip in the cover while pressing on the carrier.
