摘要: In one embodiment, a controller includes a processor and a memory, the memory storing logic. The logic is configured to perform, when executed by the processor, operations comprising detecting, in response to driving electrodes of a touch sensor with a first drive signal having a first polarity, a presence of a stylus. The presence of the stylus is detected based on a first sense signal, the first sense signal having a second polarity. The operations further comprise detecting, in response to driving the electrodes with a second drive signal having the first polarity, a second sense signal having a third polarity. The third polarity is an inverse of the second polarity. The operations further comprise driving, in response to detecting the second sense signal having the third polarity, the electrodes with a third drive signal having a fourth polarity. The fourth polarity is an inverse of the first polarity.

摘要: The invention relates to redox-switchable material comprising a redox-active moiety adsorbed, bonded or both, to a semiconductor material. Among the preferred redox-active moieties disclosed herein are ferrocenes, acridines, and quinones though any such moiety may be employed. The redox-switchable material of this invention may be used to selectively remove one or more selected solutes from an aqueous solution wherein adsorption/complexation of the solute is influenced by the oxidation state of the redox-active moiety. In an alternative embodiment, inclusion moieties that are covalently bound to the redox-active moiety are employed to achieve selective complexation of the desired solute. Other possible applications of the disclosed materials are photoerasable writing media, electrochromic or photochromic materials, catalysis, and solar energy storage.

摘要: Described is an automatic control system for land (and possible marine) vehicles based on carrier phase differential GPS (CPGPS). The system relies on CPGPS to determine vehicle position and attitude very precisely (position to within 1 cm and attitude to within 0.1.degree.). A system incorporates a technique to calculate and compensate for antenna motion due to vehicle roll and pitch. One aspect of the system utilizes an intelligent vehicle controller that recognizes and adapts to changing conditions, such as vehicle speed, implements towed by the vehicle, soil conditions, and disturbance level. The system provides the capability to control the vehicle on various paths, including straight lines and arbitrary curves. Also described is a technique for initialization and vehicle control using only a single pseudolite.

摘要: In certain embodiments, a method includes selecting, for a touch sensor including a first number of electrodes and a second number of electrodes, a first set of the first number of electrodes and a second set of the second number of electrodes. The first number of electrodes has a first orientation and the second number of electrodes has a second orientation. The second orientation being different from the first orientation. An overlap area is formed by an overlap of the first set and second set. The method also includes applying, during a first time period, a signal including a first pre-determined voltage to the first set and the second set such that, during the first time period, the overlap area has a first signal state; and applying, during a second time period, the signal to the first set and a second pre-determined voltage to the second set.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at each of at least four receivers of a stylus, a signal from an electrode line oriented along a first axis of a touch-sensing device and determining, by a processor of the stylus, a signal strength of the signal at each of the at least four receivers of the stylus. The received signal has a different signal strength at each of the at least four receivers. The method includes determining, by the processor of the stylus, a tilt direction of the stylus based on the determined signal strength at a plurality of the at least four receivers, and providing, by a transmitter of the stylus, a response signal to the touch-sensing device. The tilt direction includes a direction of the stylus along a second axis of the touch-sensing device and the second axis is oriented in a different direction than the first axis.

摘要: A system and associated method of marking a molded vehicle tire with laser engraved information to provide both human visible and machine readable data concerning the tire. Information contained in a barcode on the tire is read at a first station and supplied to a control unit. The physical location of human visible information previously molded into the tire is read from the tire at a second station and supplied to the control unit which uses this information to position a laser located at a third station for engaging additional human visible information pertaining to the manufacture of the tire adjacent the existing visible information to satisfy the Department of Transportation (DOT) tire marking requirements. The additional information also can be laser engraved into the tire in a machine readable encoded format, such as 2D symbols, for subsequent control and verification throughout the life of the tire.
