摘要: A method for modeling the complex refractive index of doped, strained or ultra-thin semiconductors starts with a model for a standard bulk material which may be in any form such as a pre-existing lookup table, a dispersion model derived from an effective medium approximation (EMA) or a critical point (CP) model. The modeling method perturbs the ∈2 curve of the bulk material by enhancing, suppressing or shifting the strong features of the curve. A Kramers-Kronig transformation is then applied to the ∈2 perturbation to obtain the corresponding perturbation to the ∈1 curve. The combination of the perturbed ∈2 curve and the correspondingly perturbed ∈1 curve are then used to obtain the complex dielectric function or complex refractive index of the modified material.

摘要: Disclosed is an assay for identifying compounds that modulate a neuronal apoptotic pathway, the assay comprises: a) contacting HSP90 protein with a probe to form a probe: HSP90 complex, the probe being displaceable by a test compound; b) measuring a signal from the probe so as to establish a reference level; c) incubating the probe:HSP90 complex with the test compound; d) measuring the signal from the probe; e) comparing the signal from step d) with the reference level, a modulation of the signal indicating that the test compound binds to HSP90. Also disclosed is a probe which is labeled with a detectable label and/or an affinity tag.

摘要: Link traversals leading from an advertisement on the Web to a product page are determined. The determined link traversals are used as a basis for charging for advertising, for example, by counting the number of link traversals from the advertising page to a product page, or by counting the number of sales resulting from such traversals. The effectiveness of advertising on the Web is evaluated by measuring the number of sales or transactions resulting from link traversals from the advertisement to the page.

摘要: Heat is removed from electronic components located within a closed housing by the use of a heat-conducting metal clip mounted on the housing cover so as to be in pressure contact with the electronic components. The metal clip includes a U-shaped mounting portion firmly clamped to a clip-mounting wall projecting from the cover, and a series of spring arms extending through a slot opening in the cover into pressure contact with individual electronic components. The clamp force of the clip on the mounting wall is designed to act independently of the pressure exerted by each spring arm on an associated electronic component.
