摘要: Spinal implants and methods for spinal stabilization and/or fusion are provided. Exemplary implants described herein can be configured for delivery to a facet joint to stabilize and/or fuse the facet joint, and can optionally be anchored within the pedicle for added fixation. The implant can optionally include a fusion-promoting bioactive material thereby providing a single device capable of spinal stabilization and/or fusion. Furthermore, a method of placing such an implant within a facet joint is provided.

摘要: A spinal disc preparation tool is provided that includes an elongate shaft having an inner lumen extending therethrough along a longitudinal axis between proximal and distal ends thereof. A lower jaw is located on a distal end of the elongate shaft for receiving tissue and delivering tissue to the inner lumen, and an upper jaw is pivotally movable relative to the lower jaw. The tool can include various features to facilitate removal and/or collection of tissue.

摘要: A UI including a “Guide,” presenting a list of videos, having data fields relating to each entry, possibly including multiple data values for a single data field. When focusing on a single entry, the focused-upon entry is expanded and emphasized. The focused-upon entry is highlighted and centered, while other entries have lesser highlighting and centering. When a data field is selected, the focused-upon data field is emphasized (by highlighting, repositioning, or resizing), while other entries have lesser emphasis. Display changes might appear after a brief delay, or in response to further user command. When entries are sorted on selected data fields, entries with multiple data values for those fields are replicated, and the sorting letter is highlighted. The user can move individually down the list of entries, or skip to the next section with a different data value for a selected field.

摘要: Forehead oximetry sensor devices and methods for determining physiological parameters using forehead oximetry sensors. One method includes placing an oximetry sensor on the forehead of a patient, such that the sensor is placed on the lower forehead region, above the eyebrow with the sensor optics placed lateral of the iris and proximal the temple; and operating the pulse oximeter to obtain the physiological parameter. In one aspect, the method also includes providing and placing a headband over the oximetry sensor, or alternately, the sensor is a headband-integrated sensor. The headband has an elastic segment sized to fit around the patient's head. The headband also includes a non-elastic segment that is smaller than and attached with the elastic segment. The non-elastic segment is sized to span a portion of the elastic segment when the elastic segment is stretched. In addition, the non-elastic segment is larger than the portion of the elastic segment it spans when the elastic segment is not stretched. When the headband or the headband-integrated sensor is sufficiently tight, it delivers a pressure in the range higher than the venous pressure and lower than the capillary pressure to the forehead of the patient.

摘要: A modular implant that is effective to replace a damaged or degenerated spinal disc is provided. The implant includes a central core member having superior and inferior surfaces, a superior endplate member having a bone-contacting surface and a mating surface effective to mate with the superior surface of the central core member, and an inferior endplate member having a bone-contacting surface and a mating surface effective to mate with the inferior surface of the central core member. The modularity of the implant allows the surgeon to select and properly fit each modular endplate member separately during the surgical procedure, thereby eliminating the need to prepare the endplates of each adjacent vertebrae, and/or the bone-contacting surfaces of the implant.

摘要: The present invention provides a knee prosthesis having a femoral component having a pair of spaced apart condylar portions and a boss structure extending between the condylar portions. The boss structure has a top surface that extends generally horizontally in a transverse plane and an opposed inferior surface. The knee prosthesis also includes a stem component having a proximal end and a distal end. The knee prosthesis further includes an attachment nut for securing the stem member to the femoral component.

摘要: The present invention provides a femoral component of a modular knee prosthesis having a first condylar portion, a second condylar portion and a box structure having a radiused superior surface, an inferior surface, and an aperture extending therebetween. The box structure may be modular to accommodate varying femoral geometries. Pairs of opposing surface features, such as grooves, are formed on the box structure and allow for anterior-posterior positioning of a stem component such as a femoral stem, sleeve or sleeve adapter. Additional surface features may be provided to centrally locate the stem component.
