Abstract:
An elastic membrane for a retainer for the processing of optical workpieces is constructed with a securing section for mounting on a housing of the retainer, so as to bound therein a chamber by a retaining section which is connected with the securing section. The retaining section has an outer side, on which a workpiece can be placed over an area by a workpiece surface, and an inner side, which is constructed to contact a support arrangement, for the workpiece. The retaining section has a perforation with at least one opening connecting the inner side and outer side and by way of which a vacuum applied to the chamber can be conducted to the outer side. Associated with the opening is a semi-permeable, functional membrane which extends merely locally in a region directly adjoining the opening.
Abstract:
A component manufacturing method includes causing a holding member to hold a workpiece such that a spherical center of a processed surface of the workpiece is located on a supporting member; rotating the workpiece by rotating the holding member; and polishing the workpiece by moving the supporting member to move the workpiece on a polishing tool, with the spherical center of the processed surface located at a spherical center of a processing surface of the polishing tool.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method that includes a step of applying glue including carrying out with a pad printing machine a sequence of steps in which is driven a transfer pad from a glue taking position to an applying position in which the distal surface of the transfer pad is in contact with one surface of one component of the tool; and then carrying out again at least once the sequence of steps, whereby the glue is applied at least twice onto the one surface of one component.

[Problem to be Solved]A displacement prevention coating agent is provided which can prevent a displacement in lens processing, which is soluble in water and which exhibits a transparent appearance at least after being cured.[Solution] There is provided a displacement prevention coating agent with which the front and rear surfaces of a lens are coated so that when cutting processing is performed on an end surface of the lens where, for example, a water-repellent coat layer is formed as a membrane such that the end surface has a shape corresponding to a frame, a holding position of the front and rear surfaces of the lens held by a chuck device is prevented from being displaced, where the displacement prevention coating agent is formed of an aqueous solution whose main components are a hydrophilic resin, a surfactant having a perfluoro group and an emulsion and exhibits a transparent appearance at least after the formation of the membrane. Such a displacement prevention coating agent is used when the front and rear surfaces of a lens where for example, a water-repellent coating layer is formed as a membrane are chucked and held with a chuck device to which an adhesive tape is adhered, and thus when the lens is processed, a holding position held by the adhesive tape of the lens is unlikely to be displaced.
Abstract:
A method of processing a workpiece with a first surface and a second surface facing away therefrom includes the following principal steps: (i) blocking the workpiece with the aid of a blocking material on a blocking member with the blocking material between blocking member and first surface, (ii) processing the workpiece by a geometrically defined cutting edge at the second surface for achieving the desired macrogeometry, (iii) processing the workpiece by a geometrically undefined cutting edge at the second surface for achieving the desired microgeometry and (iv) deblocking the workpiece from the blocking member. The principal step (ii) includes a plunge-cutting sub-step (ii.2) in which by a geometrically defined cutting edge an encircling plunge cut is produced which extends through the first surface as far as into the blocking material so that the workpiece with a predetermined edge profile remains on the blocking member radially within the plunge cut.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an ophthalmic lens, includes the steps of providing, mounting and blocking a substrate (10) on a machining support unit (65), surfacing an upper face (12) of the substrate, edging a peripheral edge (13) of the substrate, wherein the machining support unit includes a surfacing member (40) and an edging member (30) which are separable, the surfacing member having a cavity (51) in which the edging member is located during the step of surfacing, the surfacing and edging members being configured so that the substrate is mounted and blocked on the machining support unit in a first predetermined position for the surfacing and the edging and, between the steps of surfacing and edging, the method further includes the step of withdrawing the surfacing member from the machining support unit by retaining the substrate on the edging member.
Abstract:
An ophthalmic lens holder (1), includes a pedestal (10) and at least three contact pads (30) that rise from the pedestal such as to have substantially coplanar free ends (31), whereby the contact pads are suitable for bearing the ophthalmic lens. The holder has at least three through-openings (25) of axes (A1) substantially orthogonal to the plane of the free ends of the three contact pads.

Abstract:
A carrier device (10) is for handling a lens (12) which is received therein and which has a lateral edge (21), in particular for handling an eyeglass lens (12) in a machining or finishing process. The carrier device (10) comprises a main body (14) and has a connecting member (24) for releasably connecting the main body (14) to the received lens (12). The connecting member (24) forms, with the main body (14), a protective cover (15) surrounding the lateral edge (21) of the received lens (12) and a surface (30) of the received lens (12) directed toward the main body (14). The connecting member (24) is releasably connected to the main body (14).
