    摘要: A light assembly and reflector are provided for redirecting light from a light source in a motor vehicle. The reflector generally includes a first parabolic trough, a second parabolic trough, and third trough. The first and second parabolic troughs define first and second trough axes. The third trough has a third trough axis. The first and second parabolic troughs are positioned on opposing sides of the third trough, and the first and second trough axes are angled relative to the third trough axis. In this manner, the reflector collects and reflects a sufficient amount of light while providing control over the beam pattern spread, particularly in the horizontal direction, whereby a single LED may be employed such that constraints imposed by heat dissipation are significantly reduced.

The condenser lens generally includes a main body of light transmitting material. The main body defines a first surface receiving light from the light source and a second surface emitting the light. The second surface has at least one facet structured to spread the light and provide a predetermined beam pattern.

    摘要: A headlamp assembly for a motor vehicle. The headlamp assembly includes a lens and a housing cooperating to at least partially define an inner chamber that is generally fluidly isolated from the atmosphere. Mounted within the inner chamber is a one piece reflector having a reflective portion and a heat sink portion. The reflective portion reflects light from a light source forward through the lens, while the heat sink portion conducts heat from the reflective portion and dissipates the heat from the assembly.

    摘要: An illuminator for use with a light source having a light distribution pattern within a solid angle of 2.pi. steradians. The light source comprises or includes a series of LED's or light pipes positioned at or near a focal point of a reflective surface and inclined at an angle to a focal axis of the reflective surface such that all of the light from the light source is collected and distributed by the reflective surface. Whereby the reflective surface is optimized to confine the light output only to the required photometric zones thus maximizing the efficiency of the illuminator.

Light collected by an ellipsoidal and hyperboloidal portion of the reflective surface is directed into a light guide.
