    摘要: A simple, reliable, compact, low cost and low power cooling system is disclosed. The cooling system is especially suited for an electronic equipment enclosure which is located out-of-doors. The cooling system runs on community AC power which is converted to DC. If community power is disrupted, the cooling system takes power from back-up batteries. If a compressor of the cooling system drops to a temperature of 0° C., a heating subsystem including a conduit loop that runs around the compressor and into the equipment chamber of the enclosure for transporting a heat transferring fluid, is activated for transferring heat from the equipment chamber to the compressor. A closed conduit loop is used to pump a mixture of ethylene glycol between the vicinity of the compressor and the interior of the equipment chamber. In this way, heat generated by the equipment to be cooled is transferred to the compressor to heat the enclosed refrigerant and the equipment is simultaneously cooled. The power required by the system is very low, because the system is compactly constructed and the arranged for maximum efficiency.

    摘要: A direct flow impingement cooling system for heat generating electronic components is disclosed. The system includes a panel containing the components and the panel is formed of a main housing and a cover housing hinged to move between opened and closed positions. Three fans are positioned downstream of three spiral shaped air intake patterns, each having 18 cone-shaped cutouts. Downstream of the fans is a back plate with three aligned openings and side wall air exhaust slots. Downstream of the slots are upper and side exhaust openings, where all of the openings provide for low impedance air flow such that high heat removal from densely packed components is achieved.

    摘要: A cooling and heating system using a vortex tube is disclosed. The system is attached to an equipment enclosure used for telecommunications, cable television and the like where a cold airstream from the vortex tube is directed to the sealed upper chamber of the enclosure, the upper chamber typically containing heat generating electronic components. The hot airstream generated by the vortex tube can be used to maintain an elevated temperature which prolongs the life of certain batteries and enhances their efficiency. Cold plates, heat exchangers, air jets and the like may be used in conjunction with the vortex tube to increase the cooling or heating of preselected components or items.

    摘要: A top cover for an electronic equipment cabinets where the top cover is made of upper and lower synthetic resin panels which are welded at their edges to form an air chamber therebetween. The upper panel is domed while the lower panel has a corrugated like structure. Access ports are provided which may be sealed shut. Rain directing berms are also provided to direct rain to the corners of the cover and away from access doors to a sealed electronic equipment chamber in the cabinet. A lateral air and water exhaust duct extending the width of the cover is provided as a path for exhaust air from a heat exchanger which normally moves in one direction but under high wind conditions may move in the opposite direction and for allowing the passage of rain water from one side of the cabinet to the opposite side.

    摘要: Overvoltage protector unit for use in a well in which an overvoltage protection device is mounted in a grounding housing and electrically separates a conductor pin in the housing from the housing during normal voltage conditions. The conductor pin is mounted within a flame resistant resilient elastomeric dielectric support which also electrically isolates it from the housing. The support cushions the pin before installation of the unit and the unit is unlikely to suffer damage during storage or transit upon the protection device failing, the resilient support flexes to enable line to ground contact to be established.

    摘要: An electrical panelboard enclosure includes an enclosure housing with an interior equipment chamber accessible by way of a service entrance door. A service panel is configured to receive power from a main power source. A main power breaker has a main power breaker toggle switch and is positionable between a power-on state and a power-off state to selectively activate and deactivate the main power. A power cutoff switch mechanism is operable from outside the service entrance door and is positionable between a power-on state and a power-off state to mechanically engage and deactivate the main power breaker toggle switch and cutoff the main power without opening the service entrance door. A lockout system is operable to prevent the service entrance door from being secured in a closed position unless the main power breaker and the power cutoff switch mechanism are in the same state.
