    摘要: A combustor apparatus is provided, comprising a mixing arrangement for mixing a carbonaceous fuel with enriched oxygen and a working fluid to form a fuel mixture. A combustion chamber is at least partially defined by a porous perimetric transpiration member, at least partially surrounded by a pressure containment member. The combustion chamber has longitudinally spaced apart inlet and outlet portions. The fuel mixture is received by the inlet portion for combustion within the combustion chamber at a combustion temperature to form a combustion product. The combustion chamber directs the combustion product longitudinally toward the outlet portion. The transpiration member is configured to substantially uniformly direct a transpiration substance therethrough toward the combustion chamber, such that the transpiration substance is directed to flow helically about the perimeter and longitudinally between the inlet and outlet portions, for buffering interaction between the combustion product and the transpiration member. Associated systems are also provided.

Each of the protective devices is operable such that: if the operating-mode control switch is in a first state, the power switch opens and closes according to instructions stored within the protective device; and if the operating-mode control switch is in a second state, the power switch is controllable based on instructions from the remotely-located computer.

The vehicle includes an inflatable tail section that is inflated while the vehicle is in the aeroplane configuration. The vehicle includes a parachute that is reversibly deployable from a nose portion of the vehicle. The vehicle includes at least one landing rod. Each landing rod is reversibly extendable from the vehicle. A landing controller controls a first landing rod to extend after the vehicle has begun to vertically descend. The vehicle includes a folding propeller deployable from the fuselage in the aeroplane configuration. The vehicle includes a control system, and the control system includes a module to determine when the vehicle has reached a first predetermined state that defines an initiation of a transition from the ballistic projectile configuration to the aeroplane configuration.

    摘要: High purity tetrafluorohydrazine is synthesized by reacting NF.sub.3 with silicon at an elevated temperature. The reaction occurs only periodically and at a low concentration of NF.sub.3. Immediate cooling of the reaction material produces tetrafluorohydrazine and SiF.sub.4. Alkaline hydrolysis removes substantially all impurities. Tetrafluorohydrazine is further recovered by cryogenic trapping from the remaining impurities.

    摘要: The corrosion of molybdenum metal surfaces which come in contact with water-coolant systems is inhibited by the addition of a small amount of a composition containing a combination of a triazole inhibitor, a biocide and a buffering agent. A corrosion inhibiting composition containing benzotriazole as the inhibitor and benzoic acid as both a biocide and buffer proved to be especially effective in preventing the corrosion of molybdenum, tungsten and other metals.
