Abstract: An electrical distribution site energy management and router device, or SER device, may be installed between a customer premises and a distribution grid, and one or more alternative energy sources and energy storage devices may be electrically connected to the SER device. The SER device may intelligently route power from alternative energy sources to the customer premises, energy storage devices, even to the grid, through various modes of operation. The SER device may efficiently and economically route power during peak electricity price periods and outside of peak periods.

Abstract: An outage estimator that generates outage data characterizing a power state for a number of premises serviced by a power grid, the number of premises comprising a first set of the premises and a second set of the premises different from the first set of the premises. The generating includes executing a first stage analysis that estimates the power state for the first set of the premises associated with a set of transformers coupled to a first feeder in the power grid in response to detecting an event message from a smart meter associated with the first set of the premises. The generating also includes executing a second stage analysis that estimates the power state for a second set of premises associated with a set of laterals coupled to a second feeder in the power grid in response to detecting that no event messages have been provided from smart meters associated with the second set of the premises within a predetermined amount of time.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor to: assign each value of each set of values of an initial supply meter data and of an initial load meter data to one of multiple buckets based on weather conditions and/or time and date; for each bucket, generate upper and lower bounds of power provision and power consumption values, and use the upper and lower bounds to identify outlier values assigned to the bucket; for each set of values within the initial supply meter data and within the initial load meter data, generate a naive model from the non-outlier values, and use interpolation and the naive model to fill in gaps, thereby generating cleansed supply meter data and cleansed load meter data; and store the cleansed supply meter data and cleansed load meter data together as merged meter data for use in making predictions.

Abstract: Solar power systems and structures are mountable to a power distribution structure, e.g. a power pole or tower, which supports alternating current (AC) power transmission lines. An exemplary power generation structure is fixedly attached to and extends from the power distribution structure, and comprises a mounting rack. A solar array, comprising at least one solar panel, is affixed to the mounting rack. A DC to AC inverter is connected between the DC outputs of the solar array and the AC power transmission lines. The length of the solar array is generally in alignment with the power distribution structure, and the width of the solar array is greater than half the circumference of the power distribution structure. The mounting rack and solar array may preferably be rotatable, such as based on any of location, time of day, or available light.

Abstract: A load management method for controlling a plurality of distributed community loads with a plurality of controllers. The controllers are connectable to a network and the distributed community loads are connectable to a power grid. The loads are controllable by a corresponding one of the controllers according to a local need and a power grid supply or a community need of the loads. A network node device adapted to communicate with other node devices of a same community within an overlay network topology system. The system has a plurality of node devices organized in a number of hierarchically linked rings. The plurality of node devices of a same ring is interconnected in groups of node devices. One of the node devices is a parent node for linking the node devices of a first ring to node devices of a second ring at another hierarchy by being a parent node to both first and second rings.
