    摘要: This algorithm provides a marker-free approach to establishing the pixel correspondence among the IR images taken at different times, which is the basis for quantitatively characterizing the variation of the heat energy and patterns pixel-wise on a breast surface. The idea is to use the corner points of the heat pattern and the branch points of the skeletons of the heat pattern on the body surface as the initial fiducial points for the longitudinal IR image registration. The Thin-Plate Spline technique is used to model the nonlinear deformation between two IR images taken at two different times. Mutual information between the TPS-transformed image and the target image is employed as the metric quantifying the quality of the longitudinal IR image registration. To optimize the registration, Nelder-Mead simplex method is used to locally modify the pairings of the fiducial points in the source and target IR images to maximize the mutual information.

Alternatively, a part of the electronically switchable light modulating cells are configured to modulate left eye images deflected to the left eye of the viewer, and another part of the electronically switchable light modulating cells are configured to modulate right eye images to the right eye of the viewer during the same period.

    摘要: A 3D image display device with high resolution is disclosed. The device may deflect left and right eye images to a left and right eye of a viewer, respectively. As such, the viewer may see 3D images. The 3D image display device includes a plurality of electrically switchable light modulating cells containing two incompatible light modulating mediums. When a voltage is applied to electrodes of the electrically switchable light modulating cell, the interface between the incompatible light modulating mediums non-horizontally deforms corresponding to the electrowetting or electrostatic concept. The geometrical shape, size, and material of partition walls in the electrically switchable light modulating cells may reduce or eliminate misplacement of incompatible light modulating mediums while voltages are applied thereto. In addition, the method of manufacturing the 3D image display device is also disclosed.

    摘要: Infra-red images of tumors carry the information of normal and cancerous tissues in every pixel. We developed a Dual-Spectrum Heat Pattern Separation (DS-HPS) algorithm to quantify the energy from the area of the high temperature tissues, called qH map, and decompose the body surface into the high and normal temperature areas based on a pair of middle-wave Infra-red images and long-wave Infra-red images. Further, with longitudinal registration, we can detect the cancerous tissues and assess the chemotherapy treatment response on a pixel by pixel basis according to the change of the qH map derived by the DS-HPS algorithm. The preliminary result shows the area and the qH values in the high temperature area are decreased as the patients receive more chemotherapy. These suggest the proposed algorithm could capture the incremental or decremental of the energies emitted by the cancerous tissues, which has the potentials for chemotherapy assessment and early detection.

    摘要: A humidity sensing structure having a cantilever resistor and a method for fabricating the same are disclosed. The method includes providing a substrate having a first surface and a second surface; performing an oxidation process on the first surface and the second surface to form a first oxide layer and a second oxide layer respectively; forming a resistance sensing layer on the first oxide layer; forming a humidity sensing layer on the resistance sensing layer; forming in the substrate a through-hole penetrating the first oxide layer and the second oxide layer; and forming a cantilever in the through-hole such that both the humidity sensing layer and the resistance sensing layer are secured in position on the cantilever. In response to humidity changes, the humidity sensing layer varies in volume and in consequence the resistance sensing layer varies in length, allowing ambient humidity to be measured.

    摘要: A resistive-type humidity sensing structure with microbridge includes a substrate, a sensing portion, and two measuring electrodes. An isolated layer and a bridge are respectively formed on the substrate. The sensing portion includes a resistive and humidity sensing layer. Two measuring electrodes are formed on the resistive sensing layer corresponding to the bridge, so as to fix the sensing portion on the first isolated layer for measuring resistance values of the resistive sensing layer. The material of the humidity sensing layer changes its volume according to humidity, the length of the resistive sensing layer covered by the humidity sensing layer is warped, and the changes of the length of the material for the resistive sensing layer causes variations of the resistance value. Finally, two measuring electrodes are used to measure the humidity value.

    摘要: An electromagnetic micro-pump includes a substrate, a top plate, a magnetic diaphragm, and a coil unit. The substrate includes a first face and a second face. The first face includes a groove. The top plate is mounted on the first face of the substrate. The top plate includes an input hole, an output hole, and a through-hole. Each of the input hole, the output hole, and the through-hole extends through the top plate and is in communication with the groove. The through-hole is between the input hole and the output hole. The magnetic diaphragm is elastically deformable and mounted to an outer face of the top plate to seal the through-hole. The coil unit is mounted to the second face of the substrate and aligned with the through-hole.
