    摘要: In a one way clutch of a starter having an outer member, inner member and rollers, a planet carrier is formed integrally with the outer member and through holes are formed avoiding cam chambers for rollers so as not to interfere with cam chambers formed in the inner circumferential surface of outer member. At one end portion of outer member, limiting portion for limiting the axial shifting of rollers is integrally formed, and at the other end surface, a limiting plate for limiting the axial shifting of rollers is provided and press-fitted into pins. The limiting portion may be replaced by another limiting plate. Through holes for the through holes are formed at locations where the outer member is radially thick, e.g., between circumferentially adjacent two of the cam chambers.

    摘要: An electric rotating machine which withstands mechanical and thermal loads applied thereto is provided. Coil arms and coil trunks are provided in roughly parallel orientation to the end faces of an armature core only through insulating rings and insulating spacers. Metal brush is disposed on coil arms constituting a commutator, whereby the overall length of the armature can be remarkably shortened. The coil arms are strongly pressed against and fixed to the side of armature core by a collar, so that the resistance to the centrifugal force can be remarkably improved. A cylindrical ring is circumferentially fitted on the upper coil trunks to prevent radially outward movement of the coil arms due to the centrifugal force. The coil arms disposed in a non-commutator side are made radially shorter than those disposed in the commutator side. Thus, electric resistance of an armature coil is reduced and radial movement caused by the centrifugal force is reduced.

    摘要: The provision of an electric rotating machine which can reduce the mechanical and thermal loads applied thereto. Coil arms and coil trunks are provided in roughly parallel orientation to the end faces of an armature core only through insulating rings and insulating spacers. Metal brush is disposed on coil arms, whereby the overall length of the armature can be remarkably shortened. In addition, a commutator, conventionally necessary, can be eliminated, whereby the length of the production process for the armature can be reduced. Moreover, in an arrangement where projections of the upper coil arm are fit in holes of the insulating spacer, as the displacement of the upper coil arm towards the outer periphery is regulated, the length of the axial protrusions of the upper coil arm from the end face of the armature core can be minimized. In addition, as extension portions and of the coil trunks are strongly pressed against and fixed to the side of armature core by fixing members, the resistance to the centrifugal force can be remarkably improved. Furthermore, as the extension portion of the lower coil arm is fit in a recessed part of the insulating spacer, the displacement of the lower coil arm in the axial direction towards the outer periphery can be prevented. Accordingly, the electric rotating machine according to the present invention can withstand more than two times as high a rotational speed as that of the conventional structure.

The planet carrier further forms waste shafts projecting in a direction same as that of the gear shafts. The circle on which the waste shafts are arranged has a diameter different from that of a circle on which the gear shafts are arranged. A speed reduction ratio can be changed by mounting planetary. gears having a gear specification different from that of the planetary gears supported on the gear shafts on the waste shafts. The planet carrier can be integrally formed with a clutch outer portion of a one-way clutch.

    摘要: A pinion gear of a starter is engaged with a ring gear of an internal combustion engine by restricting rotation of the pinion gear while driving a motor at a low speed. After the engagement is established, the motor is driven at a full speed by supplying a full current, thereby cranking up the engine. A crank bar for transferring movement of a plunger in a magnetic switch to a pinion-rotation-restricting member is divided into two or three portions. After the divided portions are assembled to the starter, they are connected together to form a solid piece. In this manner, a process of assembling the crank bar into the starter is simplified.

The one-way clutch comprises a small-diameter cylindrical part of the casing, serving as a clutch inner member, a small-diameter cylindrical part of the internal gear, serving as a clutch outer member, fit on the small-diameter cylindrical part of the casing, a clutch roller disposed between the small-diameter cylindrical part of the casing and the small-diameter cylindrical part of internal gear, and a spring. The internal gear includes a large-diameter cylindrical part with an annular face. The one-way clutch is formed so as to have a smaller diameter than the outside diameter of the large-diameter cylindrical part of the internal gear.

    摘要: A carrier portion includes a side wall portion which restricts shifting of rollers in the axial direction. The side wall portion has a receiving hole formed at a radial central region. A clutch outer, integrally formed with the carrier portion, is rotatably supported via a bearing by a front axial end portion of an armature shaft. The bearing is fixed by press fitting on an inner cylindrical surface of the receiving hole. A tapered portion, provided at an edge of the front axial end portion of the armature shaft, is a guide surface for guiding the armature shaft into the bearing. The length of the front axial end portion is determined in such a manner that the side surface of a sun gear can contact with the side surfaces of the planetary gears in the axial direction after the tapered portion entirely enters inside the bearing.

    摘要: The starter-use electromagnetic switch has an electrical contact interposed in a power supply line for supplying power from a battery to a starter motor, the main contact being turned on and off in interlock with energization of an electromagnet implemented by an excitation coil. The electromagnetic switch includes a connection fitting connected to the excitation coil at one end thereof and drawn outside through a resin cover of the electromagnetic switch at the other end thereof, and a terminal fitting electrically and mechanically connected to the other end of the connection fitting at one end thereof, the other end of the terminal fitting being branched into first and second terminal pieces. The first terminal piece serves as an excitation terminal supplied with power from the battery. The second terminal piece serves as a connection terminal connected to an excitation terminal of an external electromagnetic switch through a cable.
