摘要: A coherent optical receiver includes a 90-degree optical hybrid circuit to which a received signal light is input, I-channel and Q-channel photo detectors to which the outputs of the hybrid circuit are input, a clock extraction circuit which reproduces a clock whose speed is the same as a demodulated signal obtained by demodulating the received signal light and which is synchronized therewith, I-channel and Q-channel sampling circuits which sample the signal outputs from the I-channel and Q-channel photo detectors by use of the clock, and a digital signal processing section which digitally processes the sampled signals, converts them to a digital signal, and outputs the digital signal. The digital signal processing section feeds a phase offset signal detected there back to the clock extraction circuit to thereby control the phase of the clock, and compensates dispersion of light within a fiber and phase fluctuation during free-space propagation.

摘要: An RF (radio frequency) signal is generated at a first communication device and is modulated. A second RF signal provided to the first communication device from the second communication device is demodulated. The second RF signal is detected. The generating is actuated to initiate an active or a passive mode communication, when the detecting does not detect the second RF signal at a level of a first threshold or more, the active mode including a transmission of modulated data at the first communication device and the second communication device, the passive mode providing load modulated communication from the second communication device to the first communication device. When the first communication device receives an indication to start a communication of the active mode from the second communication device, the demodulating receives data at a level of a second threshold or higher, the second threshold being higher than the first threshold.

摘要: A communication apparatus capable of using near field communication from various protocols, a communication method for use therewith, and a program for use therewith are provided. NFC communication apparatuses 1 to 3 capsulize an LLC packet of an LLC layer of a data link layer in an MAC packet of an MAC layer, capsulize the MAC packet in a physical layer packet of a physical layer, and transmit and receive the packet. In that case, the maximum length of the LLC packet is limited so as to be smaller than or equal to a length that is determined on the basis of the maximum length of the physical layer packet and the maximum number of MAC packets that can be transmitted continuously from the MAC layer to the LLC layer without making a response. The present invention can be applied to, for example, an IC card system or the like.

摘要: A communication apparatus capable of fully exhibiting capabilities that are inherently possessed by the communication apparatus for performing near field communication, a communication method for use therewith, and a program for use therewith an initiator performs near field communication with a target in accordance with are provided. For example, for each of predetermined n+1 types of capabilities possessed by the initiator or the target, the initiator generates capsules [0] to [n] containing one or more pieces of information related to a corresponding capability (S61). Next, the initiator generates a command ATR_REQ containing the generated capsules [0] to [n] (S62 to S64). Then, the initiator transmits the command ATR_REQ to the target. The present invention can be applied to, for example, an IC card system.

摘要: A tape cassette of this invention is equipped with a memory capable of accommodating at least management information including identification information unique to each tape cassette. A magnetic tape housed in the tape cassette is written with identification information that is supposed to be the same in content as the memory-stored identification information. When the tape cassette is loaded into a tape drive system, the system acquires both the memory-stored identification information and the tape-stored identification information to determine a match therebetween. A mismatch between the two sets of identification information, if detected, is interpreted to mean that the tape cassette has been tampered with, and read and write operations on the cassette are restricted accordingly. This enhances security against fraudulent uses of the tape drive system.

摘要: A tape cassette of this invention is equipped with a memory capable of accommodating management information. Where the tape cassette is used, a MIC mode switch is written to a predetermined area on the magnetic tape held in the cassette. That item of information specifies whether or not the use of the management information held in the memory is mandatory upon write or read operations to or from the magnetic tape. A check is made on the consistency between the MIC mode switch read from the magnetic tape on the one hand and a result of access to the memory on the other hand. If an inconsistency is detected, that is interpreted as something fraudulent having been committed on the tape cassette. In such a case, read and write operations on the illegitimate cassette are restricted. This improves security of a tape drive system running the tape cassette.
