摘要: An inflating device for safety air bag for an automotive vehicle is basically constructed with an air bag inflating implement, a first sensor which is installed in the neighborhood of the vehicle cabin and generates an actuating signal when a change in the running speed of the vehicle within a sampling time exceeds a predetermined value, a second sensor which is provided in a position forward of the first sensor and which detects the change in the vehicle speed at the initial stage of the collision, a third sensor which is provided within the vehicle cabin, the third sensor having no sampling time relative to a predetermined speed reduction value in the vehicle, and a memory device which is composed of an electronic circuit or mechano-electric components, in which construction the actuating signal is made to be applied to the air bag inflating implement when output signals are generated from the memory device and the first sensor simultaneously.

摘要: A valve timing adjusting apparatus is designed for quickly starting an engine at the intermediate position between the most retarded angle and the most advanced angle and for preventing hammering sound. A top end surface of a stopper piston receives a retard hydraulic pressure, and an annular surface of a large diameter sliding portion receives the retard hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic chamber. The retard hydraulic pressure applied to the top end surface and the annular surface acts in the direction to pull out the stopper piston from a fitting bore. An annular surface of the large diameter sliding portion receives an advance hydraulic pressure when an advance hydraulic chamber is communicated to a hydraulic chamber. The hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic chamber acts as a force for pushing the stopper piston in a fitting member. When the through hole is closed by the large diameter sliding portion, the hydraulic chamber acts as a damper chamber.

摘要: An entirely mechanical air bag device for cars wherein a frangible lid seals a container having gas under pressure therein. The frangible lid is supported by a pressing lid in contact with a link mechanism. During a crash, an impact detecting assembly releases the link mechanism which in turn releases the pressing lid which permits the frangible lid to be fractured by the high pressure gas to inflate the bag.

摘要: A stopper piston is fitted into a fitting hole when a vane rotor is located at an approximately intermediate position between a most retard position and a most advance position with respect to a shoe housing. When the stopper piston is fitted into the fitting hole, a relative rotation of the vane rotor with respect to the shoe housing is restrained. When the stopper piston rotates to an advance side with respect to the shoe housing over the intermediate position at which the stopper piston is fitted into the fitting hole, a damper chamber communicates with an advance oil pressure chamber through a through hole, an oil passage and a recess space. When the vane rotor rotates to a retard side including the intermediate position, the damper chamber is sealed hermetically, and therefore the moving speed of the stopper piston toward the fitting hole decreases.

摘要: An anti-skid braking system for a vehicle comprising a brake unit actuated by pressure generated in a master cylinder by driver actuation and a hydraulic control circuit for hydraulically controlling the actuation of the brake unit to reduce the braking action of the brake unit when an excessive braking force is applied by the brake unit to the brakes of the vehicle wheels. The hydraulic control circuit includes an output section to which a safety valve is connected for releasing the oil pressure when the pressure in the hydraulic control circuit is supplied for a period exceeding a predetermined time.

摘要: An apparatus for starting air bag devices in automobiles at the time of an accident or collision of an automobile, if the shock resulting from such collision is such as will injure the riders in the automobile. The apparatus includes a weight body adapted to detect the magnitude of the shock and to slide at the time of collision of the automobile. A detecting member is engaged with the weight body to operate with movement of the weight body, and a link mechanism is operated by the detecting member, such that the air bag device will be started mechanically.

摘要: An epilepsy model animal (CHRNA4:S284L) developing spontaneous epileptic seizure during sleep, which is a nonhuman animal established by ontogenesis of a totipotent cell into which a polynucleotide encoding nonhuman mutant CHRNA4 is introduced and having said polynucleotide in its somatic chromosome, or a progeny of the nonhuman animal, wherein said nonhuman mutant CHRNA4 has the corresponding mutation of human mutant CHRNA4 in which the 284th Ser of SEQ ID NO: 1 is substituted by Leu. The epilepsy model animal has gene abnormality homologous to human chromosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy and a symptom (epileptic seizure during sleep) the same as that of human autosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy.
