摘要： A printer includes a first memory for storing character pattern data provided by compressing a plurality of character patterns by a prescribed method, a second memory for storing data expanded from the compressed character pattern data, and a printing apparatus for printing the prepared characters. When character patterns designated by externally applied character code information are prepared in the second memory, the data in the second memory are directly printed. Only when the designated character pattern are not prepared in the second memory, the data in the first memory are expanded, stored in the second memory, and the printing is carried out.

摘要： An electrophotocopying machine of the electrostatic latent image transfer type employing as a device for projection of images of original documents onto a photosensitive drum an optical fiber device which has a short focal length and permits efficient exposure of a narrow area of the photosensitive drum whereby the drum diameter can be small and machine height may be reduced. The electrophotocopying machine also occupies less area and makes efficient use of electrical power because use is made of a portion of a charging unit area to transmit image light to the photosensitive drum and use is also made of light from the document illumination device to erase the charge on the drum.

摘要： A transfer type electrophotographic copying apparatus for high speed copying system which includes a photoconductive photoreceptor in the form of an endless belt and movably suspended by a plurality of rollers so as to provide a plurality of flat surfaces. A flat portion which is formed on the photoreceptor belt facing a transfer corona charger and which is directed approximately parallel to a path of a copy paper sheet is effective for shortening the length of the paper path and for improving transferred images, while blower means disposed in a fixing device is adapted to assist in the separation of the copied paper from the photoreceptor belt in normal copying operation, and to direct cooling air to the fixing device in case of paper jamming. Heat shielding means is disposed between the fixing device and the photoreceptor belt.

摘要： The copying machine employed with the projection device of the present disclosure is designed for copying a thin document which is moved directly over a transparent support, and a thick document which is moved over the transparent support through a suitable transparent plate. The projection device includes a light source for projecting light rays emitted from the light source onto the document to be copied through a first optical path formed between the light source and the document. The light rays reflected from the document are transmitted, through a second optical path formed between the document and photoreceptor, towards the photoreceptor surface. The projection device further includes a transparent correcton plate pivotally provided to move between a first position where the correction plate intrudes into the first optical path and a second position where the correction plate intrudes into the second optical path so as to correct the optical length, and to correct the intensity and distribution of the light to be projected onto the photoreceptor.

摘要： A belt-type photocopy machine in which the belt assembly is disconnectable from the belt drive and withdrawable to an external location for replacement of the belt. The belt is seamed, but the removable assembly contains belt-position-defining elements with which the seam in the belt is aligned during replacement, and the machine's copy sequence controls cooperate with the position-defining elements through synchronizing means upon reinsertion of the belt assembly so that coordination of the sequence controls and the belt position is achieved regardless of the relative positions of the belt and the sequence controls subsequent to reinsertion.

摘要： An electrophotographic apparatus having an endless electrophotosensitive belt transportable past a plurality of work stations and including paper supply and transport means and a unitary control circuit which actuates work stations and other apparatus elements in a required succession and at frequencies which vary in accordance with copy magnification required. The control circuit itself is actuated in response to signals supplied by one of several rotatory switching means which are rotated synchronously with the electrophotosensitive belt, thereby ensuring matching of belt and apparatus element action.The apparatus may further comprise detection switches which are disposed at various points along the path of travel of copy paper through the apparatus, and are actuable by passage of a sheet of copy paper, and the successive actuation of which is a necessary condition for continued actuation of the control circuit and sequential operation of work stations. Upon the occurrence of a paper jam and consequent failure of a sheet of copy paper to reach and actuate a detection switch, apparatus operation is stopped and a lamp or similar warning means indicative of the location of the paper jam is activated.
