Shaped aluminum bars fresh from an extruder machine are coated with a specific organopolysiloxane composition while remaining uncooled and staying at temperatures not lower than about 250.degree. C, or at a temperature between about 550.degree. and 250.degree. C. The thus coated aluminum bars are then, preferably, subjected to annealing. The coatings formed on the surfaces of the aluminum materials have a superior resistance to attack by chemicals, weather, stains and heat as well as excellent adhesion and mechanical properties.

Then, a voltage application line from a voltage-application circuit for controlling the voltage of a reference signal is connected to the input main line and a voltage feedback line therefrom is connected to the output main line. Thus, it becomes possible to accurately detect minute voltage variations within a reference signal circuit and compensate for them.

In the driving circuit for a display apparatus according to the present invention, a charging circuit applies a voltage equal to or higher than the highest positive gradation voltage to each data line for a predetermined period of time before the start of a period for applying a positive gradation voltage. After that, a positive gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. Then, a period for the applying a negative gradation voltage is started, when a negative gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. Accordingly, after being charged with a voltage applied by the charging circuit at the beginning of each cycle of the AC driving, each data line is applied with an equal or lower gradation voltage. Alternatively, a discharging circuit first applies a voltage equal to or lower than the lowest negative gradation voltage to each data line for a predetermined period of time before the start of a period for applying a negative gradation voltage. After that, a negative gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. Then, a period for applying a positive gradation voltage is started, when a positive gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. A digital tuning receiver having an electrically tuneable tuner and an AFT circuit is driven in a unidirectional sweep by the D/A converted output of a reversible counter. The reversible counter continues to count input pulses, and the unidirectional sweep continues until stopped by the reception of a signal which produces a first signal from an AFT frequency discriminator followed within a predetermined time by a second signal of opposite polarity from the AFT frequency discriminator. The number stored in the stopped reversible counter may be further adjusted by AFT signals and stored for later recall. If the second signal is not received within a predetermined time, as occurs with spurious beat signals, the sweep is not stopped but continues until a proper signal is received.
