    摘要： An image forming apparatus having a developing unit for developing a latent image electrostatically formed on a photoconductive element or similar image carrier by a developer, or toner, to produce a toner image, and a cartridge removably mounted on the apparatus for supplying a toner thereto. An operator is directed through the steps of toner re-supply from the removal of the used toner cartridge to the insertion of a new toner cartridge while watching instructions which sequentially appear on a display. The present invention allows for the display of instructions which will lead the operator applyin toner through a step-by-step process to ensure that the toner is added correctly, quickly and efficiently.

    摘要： A copier, printer or similar image forming apparatus operable with a supply such as a developer cartridge being loaded in a body thereof. A door forms a part of a housing portion of the apparatus body and is provided with an opening for loading and unloading a supply and an openable lid for covering and uncovering the opening. Even when the lid is opened, the operation of the apparatus is not interrupted. Simple and safe replacement of a supply is insured and, yet, a supply is prevented from contaminating the apparatus when loaded and unloaded.

    摘要： The present invention has an object to provide an inkjet head and a method for manufacturing the inkjet head which not only protects a member at and/or near a surface onto which the nozzle plate is connected (nozzle connection surface), but also shortens the manufacturing time. A protective layer is provided between the nozzle plate and the piezo-electric element, enabling only the protective layer to be polished, protecting the piezo-electric element from being damaged by the polishing when the nozzle connection surface is formed. After the inkjet head is completed, the protective layer prevents ink leakage to the piezo-electric element.

The drive sections are separated from each other by parallel extending grooves. The piezoelectric member has inner electrodes 32 embedded therein and exposed to the side surfaces of the drive sections. The exposed portions of the inner electrodes are covered by insulating members, so that no short circuit is caused between the inner electrodes provided in the piezoelectric member.

    摘要： An electrophotographic copying machine has a flash lamp for applying a flash of light to a document to be copied. The copying machine also includes a sensor for detecting whether the flash lamp is energized or not. When there is no signal indicating that the flash lamp is energized even in the presence of a command to energize the flash lamp, a control circuit determines that the flash lamp has failed to emit light at a predetermined exposure timing, and produces an output signal to effect a predetermined operation upon non-energization of the flash lamp. An arrangement for effecting such a predetermined operation may for example be a switch of an erase lamp, a control circuit for controlling operation of a copy counter, a switch of a motor for driving image developing rollers, a control circuit for controlling a developing bias, a switch of an image transfer charger, a control circuit for controlling a separator finger for changing feed paths of travel of an image transfer sheet, a control circuit for controlling a shutter to cover an image transfer charger, or a switch for driving rollers which feed an image transfer sheet.
