摘要: A multistage fine-hole machining device has lap stations for lapping an inner surface defining a through-hole of a workpiece. Each of the lap stations has a passing unit for passing wire through the through-hole of the workpiece, a supply unit for supplying a polishing material to the wire, and a sliding unit for effecting relative sliding movement between the workpiece and the wire while the wire is passed through the through-hole of the workpiece and is supplied with the polishing material to thereby lap the inner surface of the workpiece with the polishing material and enlarge the diameter of the through-hole. A transfer device successively transfers the workpiece to each of the lap stations to lap the inner surface of the workpiece at each of the lap stations during the lapping operation for successively enlarging the diameter of the through-hole to a preselected diameter.

摘要: A polishing-washing method includes the steps of providing a polishing media containing a fine powder of an RB ceramic and/or CRB ceramic and bringing a medium stream containing the polishing media into contact with the surfaces of a body to be worked. In this method, the polishing media solution obtained after the polishing-washing can be re-used by recycling after simply separating the particles of metal oxides and the particles of removed burrs and cutting metal chips from the solution composition by utilizing a difference in specific gravity.

摘要: This invention relates to apparatus and methods for z-axis control and collision detection and recovery for waterjet and abrasive-jet cutting systems. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a linear rail, a slide member coupleable to a cutting head and slideably coupled to the linear rail, at least one actuator having a first end coupled to the slide member and a second end fixed with respect to the linear rail, a position sensor, and a controller. The actuator provides an adjustable support force that supports the weight of the cutting head, allowing the cutting head to be controllably positioned at a desired height above the workpiece. The actuator may include a pneumatic cylinder, or alternately, a linear motor. In another aspect, an apparatus includes a first mount member coupleable to a controllably positionable mounting surface of the waterjet cutting system, a second mount member coupleable to the cutting head and disengageably coupled to the first mount member, and a sensing circuit having a plurality of first conductive elements disposed on the first mount member and a plurality of second conductive elements disposed on the second mount member. In the event of a collision between the cutting head and an obstruction, the second mount member disengages from the first mount member to prevent breakage of the cutting head. Following the collision, the second mount member is quickly and easily re-engaged with the first mount member without time-consuming re-calibration. In one embodiment, re-engagement of the second end first mount members is automatically performed by a biasing member.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods and systems for isolating non-rectangular shaped optical integrated circuits formed on a brittle substrate. For example, a brittle substrate comprising a plurality of non-rectangular shaped optical integrated circuits is provided on a water jet cutting system. In the water jet cutting system a mixture of water and at least one water soluble polymer is wet injected into a water stream and then a high pressure polymer water jet is used to cut the brittle substrate. The non-rectangular shaped optical integrated circuits are isolated by water jet cutting in a curvilinear manner without fatally damaging adjacent optical integrated circuits.

摘要: A method of removing a coating, such as paint, varnish, biological growth or grime, from a surface, the method comprising selecting a suitable particulate solid having a particular, size of from 150-250 mm and a fluid carrier to form a spray mixture and spraying the mixture as a jet spray so as to impact and at least partially remove the coating. The hardness of the particulate solid is less than 8.0 on the Moh scale. The pressure applied to the spray mixture to generate the spray is from 3x105 to 1.5x106 Nm−2. An apparatus comprising a blasting pot (1) and a compressor (2) to generate the spray mixture and propel it from a nozzle (5) is also disclosed. Heating may be applied to the carrier, either prior to or when mixing with the particulate solid.
