    Abstract: An energy management method for an energy supply system which includes at least an energy storage, a load and a generator with power dependent efficiency is provided. The method includes: calculating two time variant parameters indicating a discharge lower limit and an upper charge limit, respectively, of the energy storage, based on optimization using different kinds of prediction; and controlling, in a real time manner, charging and discharging of the energy storage and operation of the generator, with a certain priorities given to various power sources, such that state of charge of the energy storage is controlled within a region between the discharge lower limit and the upper charge limit. When a grid power is available, blackout duration probability function is predicted and used to calculate the discharge lower limit and the upper charge limit.

    Abstract: A data acquisition unit acquires input data and output data of a system to be identified. A memory unit stores initial binary/ternary structure matrices obtained from prior knowledge. A binary/ternary structure matrix generation unit reads the initial binary matrices from the memory unit and generates a plurality of sets of candidate binary matrices. A binary structure matrix selection unit selects one set of binary matrices from the sets of candidate binary matrices. A determination unit determines matrices used in a state equation for the system to be identified and matrices used in an output equation for the system to be identified in response to the selected set of binary matrices. An evaluation unit evaluates whether the determined matrices are reasonable for identifying the system to be identified.

    Abstract: One of the features of the invented method is that it adds to the scenario selection criteria the impact on the control command of the single scenarios. If necessary it takes also into account the performance achieved during single scenario optimization and combines scenario describing space information with single scenario optimization results space information. By using reduced scenarios (subset) an overall optimization procedure based on the subset can be established. If results are not satisfactory from the performance or constraints point of view a new iteration is initiated.

    Abstract: A renewable power system according to the exemplary embodiment includes a renewable power plant (121), a controllable plant (123) and an energy management system (128) which keeps an energy schedule within a certain tolerance in the next k (an integer greater than or equal to 1) steps by using a method that includes an optimization algorithm for a total power output shape within a step, and schedule changing algorithm for changing the energy schedule after the next k steps to keep a needed capacity of the plant regarding power and energy small. By keeping the energy schedule within a certain range for a renewable power plant combined with controllable plant, it is possible to keep the needed power and energy capacity of controllable plant small and to guarantee favorable total power output shape.
