Abstract: Provided are a polyester resin modifying agent, a method for producing the same, and a polyester resin composition including the modifying agent, the polyester resin modifying agent including a polycarbodiimide compound, being capable of improving hydrolysis resistance of a polyester resin, having a small content of a carbodiimidizing catalyst having been used in producing the polyester resin modifying agent, and having suppressed yellowness. Provided are a polyester resin modifying agent in which a polycarbodiimide compound obtained by reacting an aliphatic diisocyanate, an isocyanate-terminal capping agent, and a carbodiimidizing catalyst is included, a content of the carbodiimidizing catalyst falls within a predetermined range, and a yellowness index (YI) is less than 20; a method for producing the polyester resin modifying agent; and a polyester resin composition.

Abstract: Provided are a polycarbodiimide compound and a polyester resin composition and polyester resin modifier using the polycarbodiimide compound, the polycarbodiimide compound having a small amount of residual amine and having good processability when the polycarbodiimide compound is added to the polyester resin while keeping hydrolysis resistance of polyester resin imparted thereto through addition of the polycarbodiimide compound. Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing an aqueous carbodiimide having excellent crosslinking reactivity with a crosslinking group, such as an alcoholic hydroxy group of an aqueous resin. The method for producing an aqueous carbodiimide-containing liquid includes a step (1) of mixing an isocyanate group-containing carbodiimide (A), a terminal blocking agent, and at least one organic metal compound selected from an organic titanium compound, an organic zirconium compound, and an organic aluminum compound and allowing them to react with each other, to obtain a terminal-blocked carbodiimide (B) in which the isocyanate group is blocked with the terminal blocking agent; and a step (2) of dissolving or dispersing the terminal-blocked carbodiimide (B) in an aqueous solvent, to obtain an aqueous carbodiimide-containing liquid, wherein the terminal blocking agent contains a hydrophilic compound (X) having a functional group having reactivity with the isocyanate group and a hydrophilic group other than the functional group.

Abstract: The present invention provides a powdered polycarbodiimide compound which can improve the hydrolytic resistance of an ester resin, hardly causes an increase in viscosity when added to and mixed with the ester resin, and has high handling properties, and an ester resin composition comprising the same. The powdered polycarbodiimide compound according to the present invention is represented by the following formula (1), and has a melting point of 50° C. or more: wherein R1 and R2 each represent a residue of an organic compound (excluding ethanol) having one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group, wherein the functional group is removed from the organic compound; R3 represents a divalent residue of a diisocyanate compound from which two isocyanate groups are removed; the diisocyanate compound has a hydrocarbon group which directly bonds to the two isocyanate groups; R4 represents a divalent residue of a diol compound from which two hydroxyl groups are removed; X1 and X2 each represent a bond formed by a reaction of the functional group with the isocyanate group; m and n each represent a number of 1 to 20; and p represents a number of 2 to 20.
