    Abstract: Provided is a polyester resin composition that exhibits excellent hydrolysis resistance and generates little isocyanate gas when heated during melt kneading and molding. The polyester resin composition contains a polyester resin (A) and a carbodiimide compound (B) having a specific structure. The content of the carbodiimide compound (B) is 0.1 to 5 parts by mass relative to a total of 100 parts by mass of the polyester resin (A) and the carbodiimide compound (B).

    Abstract: A polycarbodiimide compound represented by the following general formula (1): wherein R1 and R3 each represent a residue of an organic compound having one isocyanate-reactive functional group but excluding the isocyanate-reactive functional group, and R1 and R3 may be the same as or different from each other; R2 comprises a group represented by the following formula (i), which is a divalent residue of 2,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate having isocyanate groups removed therefrom, and a group represented by the following formula (ii), which is a divalent residue of 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate having isocyanate groups removed therefrom; the proportion of the groups represented by the formula (i) relative to all the R2 groups in the polycarbodiimide compound is 30 to 70 mol %, and the proportion of the groups represented by the formula (ii) relative to all the R2 groups in the polycarbodiimide compound is 30 to 70 mol %; X1 and X2 each represent a group formed by the reaction of the organic compound and isocyanate, and X1 and X2 may be the same as or different from each other; and n represents an integer of 2 to 50.

    Abstract: To provide a polycarbodiimide copolymer and a modified polycarbodiimide copolymer each suitable for a curing agent that can allow a cured product of a carboxy group-containing resin composition to be improved in flexibility without any loss of water resistance, as well as a curing agent of a carboxy group-containing resin composition, and a carboxy group-containing resin composition. The present invention enables a cured product to be enhanced in water resistance due to introduction of a predetermined soft segment into a polycarbodiimide molecule, in use for a curing agent, and also enables a carboxy group-containing resin composition to be enhanced in storage stability due to modification with an aliphatic amine or an aromatic heterocyclic amine.

    Abstract: There is provided a compatibilizer for polyester resin which can produce better compatibility than conventional counterparts, and a polyester resin composition using the compatibilizer. The compatibilizer comprises a polycarbodiimide compound represented by the formula (1) describe below wherein the carbodiimide equivalent of the polycarbodiimide compound is 280 or higher; and in the formula (1), R1 and R2 are residues formed by eliminating a functional group from an organic compound having the one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group; R3 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two isocyanate groups from a diisocyanate compound; R4 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a diol compound; X1 and X2 are bonds formed by reaction of the functional group of the organic compound with one of the two isocyanate groups of the diisocyanate compound; and m and n=1 to 20, m+n≤25, and p=0 to 39, provided that the number of carbodiimide groups in one molecule is 2 to 40.

    Abstract: Provided are a polycarbodiimide compound and a polyester resin composition and polyester resin modifier using the polycarbodiimide compound, the polycarbodiimide compound having a small amount of residual amine and having good processability when the polycarbodiimide compound is added to the polyester resin while keeping hydrolysis resistance of polyester resin imparted thereto through addition of the polycarbodiimide compound. A polycarbodiimide compound represented by the following general formula (1): RmNH2-m—CO—NH—Z—(N═C═N—Z)n—NH—CO—NH2-mRm (1) is used, wherein Rm is a hydrocarbon residue of an amine compound which is represented by RmNH3-m and has a boiling point at 1 atm of 150° C. or lower; m is 1 or 2; Z is a residue obtained by removing two isocyanate groups from an aliphatic diisocyanate compound; and n is any integer of 2 to 7.
