Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to link based groupcast communication. In the solution, a groupcast stream can be delivered on a specified link in a negotiation manner between a first device (e.g., an access point AP in an infrastructure BSS or a mesh station in a mesh BSS) and a second device (e.g., a non-AP station in the infrastructure BSS or a mesh station in the mesh BSS). As such, the waste of radio resources caused by repeated transmission of invalid data on the multiple links are reduces significantly.
Abstract:
This document discloses a solution for decoding frames received via multiple links. According to an aspect, a method for an apparatus of a wireless network includes: decoding at least a first part of a first frame received on a first channel; detecting, during said decoding the first part of the first frame, transmission of a second frame on a second channel; in response to said detecting, buffering at least a first part of the second frame, the first part of the second frame including duration information; after said decoding the first part of the first frame, decoding at least the first part of the second frame; updating, on the basis of the duration information, channel occupation information of the second channel; starting, based at least partly on the channel occupation information of the second channel indicating that the second channel not occupied, contention for channel access on the second channel.
Abstract:
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method, comprising: transmitting an association request from a wireless device to a first access node of a wireless network for associating the wireless device to the wireless network, wherein the wireless network comprises a centralized unit and a plurality of access nodes, including the first access node, receiving an association response from the first access node for associating the wireless device to the wireless network, performing carrier sensing on a plurality of channels; selecting a second access node among the plurality of access nodes in response to obtaining a transmission opportunity for a channel of the plurality of channels, wherein the selecting is based at least partly on a record of ongoing transmission opportunities, and transmitting data from the wireless device to the second access node during the transmission opportunity.
Abstract:
This document discloses a solution for performing internetwork beamforming cooperation. According to an aspect, a method comprises: establishing, by a first access node (112) of a first wireless network, internetwork beamforming with a second access node (110) of a second wireless network, wherein the establishment indicates at least one station (102) of the second wireless network; in response to said establishing, transmitting by the first access node (112) a channel sounding signal; receiving, by the first access node (112) from the at least one station (102) of the second wireless network, a beamforming report comprising channel state information measured from the channel sounding signal; and performing, by the first access node (112), null steering beamforming transmission in the first wireless network on the basis of the received channel state information.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for displaying messages by reducing a reflectivity of a display. A display, such as a smart mirror, provides reflective properties and digital information. The reflectivity of some portions of the display may be altered such that the display provides the visual effect of steam. By varying the reflectivity in different portions of the display, messages may be provided via the display so as to appear written in the steam. Trigger actions, such as a user entering the vicinity, the detected sound of miming water, and/or the like, may cause the visual effect of steam or display of the message. A user may provide a message by a hand gesture, or writing the message in the air and see the message at is provided via a display. Users may transmit messages to other users, and may view received messages in the display.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for providing a collaborative reply to a flooding message over an ad-hoc mesh network. A reply message to a flooding message is received by a wireless node within the ad-hoc network. The wireless node monitors for an acknowledgement of receipt of the reply message according to a routing table and initiates a scheduled transmission of the reply message based on the monitoring.
Abstract:
This document discloses a solution for determining distances. In the solution, a first frame is transmitted (200) to a second apparatus; a second frame is received (202) from the second apparatus, as response to the first frame; an indication of the duration between the reception time of the first frame and transmission of the second frame is received (204); an indication whether the duration is constant or variable is received (206); and in case the duration is constant, the distance between the first apparatus and the second apparatus is determined (208) based at least partly on the indication of the duration.
Abstract:
A method comprises composing, by a wireless device in a wireless network, a service ID indicating support for providing proxy service discovery for other wireless devices operating in the wireless network; and transmitting, by the wireless device, a wireless service discovery frame to the wireless network, the service discovery frame including the composed service ID.
Abstract:
Embodiments enable communication between access point devices operating in a neighbor awareness network cluster. A method comprises composing, by an access point device responsible for coordinating communication in a first wireless network, a service ID indicating support for communication with other access point devices operating in a second neighbor awareness network, wherein the access point device is capable of concurrently operating as an access point in the first wireless network and participating in the second neighbor awareness network; and transmitting, by the access point device, a wireless service discovery frame to the second neighbor awareness network, the service discovery frame including the composed service ID.
Abstract:
A method to provide interoperable mechanisms for efficient use of frequency bands and channels in Wi-Fi networks, including receiving, by an access point device, a wireless request message from a wireless device, requesting information on candidate wireless networks; determining, by the access point device, whether the wireless device is associated with the access point device; and composing, by the access point device, a forwarding message to be transmitted by the access point device to a server, and including in the forwarding message an indication that the wireless device is associated with the access point device, if the wireless device is associated with the access point device.
