摘要: A charging apparatus for a multiunit system includes a portable unit (101) and a base unit (103). The portable unit (101) includes first and second conductive contacts (119, 120) disposed on the portable unit (101) essentially opposite each other, and rechargable energy storage means (311) electrically coupled to the first and second conductive contacts (119, 120). The base unit (103) includes an indentation (124) formed in the base unit (103) and having a receiving surface shaped to receive at least a portion of the portable unit (101), first and second conductive protrusions (127, 129) extending outwardly beyond the receiving surface essentially opposite each other, and energy source means (131) electrically coupled to the first and second conductive protrusions (127, 129). The first and second conductive protrusions (127, 129) contact the first and a second conductive contacts (119, 120), respectively when at least a portion of the portable unit (101) is placed in the indentation (124).

摘要: Unique flex-lock dovetail mounting apparatus (300) is described that may be advantageously utilized for mounting radio transceivers (100) and accessories (200) in harsh environments. The housing of the radio transceiver (100) includes on one side thereof at least two channels (101 and 105) producing a dovetail. The mounting apparatus (300) includes a top plate (304); a slide plate (308) attached to the top plate (304), having on at least one end a cut-out portion (310) producing a gap (320, 321 and 322) between the cut-out portion (310) and the top plate (304), and having at least two rails (301 and 305) producing a dovetail and each adapted to insert into a corresponding one of the channels (101 and 105); and locking apparatus including a lever (306) or a thumb screw (706) coupled to the top plate (304) and the cut-out portion (310) of the slide plate (308) for flexing the cut-out portion (310) toward the top plate (304) thereby locking the rails (301 and 305) in position in the channels (101 and 105).

摘要: A hinge actuated switch apparatus initiates a control signal responsive to the rotational movement of a flip element (103) on a radiotelephone unit (100). The radiotelephone unit's circuitry senses of whether the flip element (103) is in a closed or open position. The integrated miniature switch comprises a pin (223) attached eccentrically to one end of a hinge (221) on the flip element (103). As the flip element (103) is rotated, the pin (223) drives a push rod (203) to compress a conductive elastomeric pad (205) thereby electrically connecting normally open conductive circuit pads (234 and 236), on the surface of a printed circuit board (201).
