摘要: Disclosed is a playback device capable of audio playback with little or no interruption. Yet, there is no need of increasing the memory capacity of the playback device and sacrificing the usability of the playback device. The playback device stores, to its internal memory, identification information of audio data stored on a recording medium such as an optical disc, and specifying information specifying the storage location of the identification information. The playback device sequentially stores the audio data to a remaining area of the memory. The audio data stored in the memory is supplied for playback.

摘要: A audio processing apparatus capable of judging and correcting volume levels of audio data, with a level judgment thinning controller for thinning the frequency of the level judgments provided therein, can reduce a throughput and implement the level judgments and corrections in the case of multi-channel input audio data maintaining the original number of the channels thereof. The audio processing apparatus, with a plurality of level judging devices and level correcting devices further provided therein, can implement audio processings at optional settings in response to users' preferences. The present invention thereby provides the capability of judging and correcting levels of the multi-channel audio data while maintaining the original number of the channels thereof.

摘要: To discriminate a disk in a short time, a calculating part 16 measures an amplitude of one of a focus error signal and a tracking error signal, which are output from a differential signal generating part 15, several times, and outputs the measured amplitudes to a controller 20. The controller 20 compares the input amplitudes with threshold values stored in a memory 21, respectively, and determines whether or not an amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal is changed. If it is determined that the amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal is changed, the controller 20 changes the amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal to an amplification gain represented by one of the threshold values and discriminates the kind of an optical disk based on the changed amplification gain.

摘要: The multimedia data decoder includes a decoding section and a control section. The decoding section for decoding coded data in a bit stream has a function to detect a synchronous word from the bit stream, analyze decoding information following the synchronous word and extract specific option designating information from the decoding information. The control section determines whether or not the option designating information extracted by the decoding section has any out-of-standard value, that is, any value that is not defined by a standard. If the option designating information has any out-of-standard data, the control section controls the decoding section so as to replace the out-of-standard value with a value defined by the standard and conduct a decoding process. For this purpose, the control section applies replacement information to the decoding section. Accordingly, decoded data is obtained even if the decoding information has an out-of-standard value.
