摘要： A wireless infrared peripheral interface for a communication device having a cellular radio transceiver includes a peripheral interface. The peripheral interface includes at least one infrared signal source and at least one infrared detector. The signal source and detector are coupled with dispersing optics. An interface circuit is coupled to the infrared signal source and detector. A processor is coupled to the interface circuit, wherein the processor controls the interface circuit to process data signals that are conveyed through the infrared source and detector so as to communicate with a peripheral device that is proximate to the communication device. The dispersing optics reduces the dependency of optical alignment between the infrared data ports of the peripheral device and communication device.

摘要： A heat sink assembly for a plurality of transistors includes specially-formed spring clips and a specially-formed heat sink to hold the transistors firmly on the heat sink, and a lead protector that mates with the heat sink to receive and protect the leads of the transistors during handling. The lead protector and the heat sink include integrally-formed fastener/alignment pins for aligning the lead protector with the heat sink, and for aligning the completed heat sink assembly with a circuit board and for holding the assembly securely fastened to the circuit board. A particular feature of the lead protector permits it to mate with heat sink in a first discrete position in which it receives and protects the transistor leads, and to more closely mate with the heat sink in a second discrete position in which the transistor leads pass through the lead protector and into target holes in the circuit board.

摘要： A communication system (100) provides automated incident alerts to a radio, automated video recording of the incident, dynamic formation of a talkgroup, and automatic sharing of the incident information amongst members of the talkgroup. The automated alert triggers video recording of incident information from a portable radio, radio accessory or vehicular radio (102). The recorded information of the incident scene is used to dynamically form a talkgroup (102, 104, 106, 108) based on members having the appropriate skills or equipment to handle the particular incident. As members of the talkgroup (104, 106, 108) proceed to the incident scene, each member is able to view real-time video of events occurring at the scene using their portable radios, vehicular radios, or radio accessory. The recordings may also be logged and stored for future analytics.

摘要： A system and method is provided for confirming the identity of a user, where the confirmation is made using biometric data. The system includes an internal speaker having an audio port, which is positioned within the ear of the user, and is adapted for producing a signal having one or more frequencies. The system further includes an internal microphone having an audio port, which is positioned within the ear of the user, and is adapted for detecting a resulting signal including the signal produced by the internal speaker and any corresponding signal reflections. A determination is then made as to whether the resulting signal detected by the internal microphone matches the corresponding predetermined expected signal, based upon a prestored hearing profile.
