摘要: Reduction in the tortuosity of electrodes is a favored strategy to enhance the fast-charging capability of lithium-ion batteries by optimizing the ion-transfer kinetics. A facile, low-cost, highly controllable, and high-output continual additive manufacturing roll-to-roll screen printing technology is disclosed herein to render customized vertical channels within electrodes. High-accuracy vertical channels were fabricated by applying as-developed inks, using LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2, for example, as the cathode material. The optimized screen-printed electrode exhibited a seven-fold higher specific charge capacity (72 mAh/g) at a current rate of 6 C and superior stability compared with that of the conventional bar-coated electrode (10 mAh/g, 6 C) at a mass loading of 10 mg/cm2.

摘要: Methods of exfoliating a graphite felt include applying a voltage differential to the graphite felt in an aqueous solution. Typically, the voltage differential is from about 5 V to about 20 V, preferably from about 10 V to about 15 V, and is applied for a duration from about 15 seconds to about 10 minutes, preferably from about 30 seconds to about 2 minutes. The aqueous solution includes a dissolved electrolyte, such as NH4+ or SO42−.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a double-layer ion-selective membrane, method of production, applications of the double-layer ion-selective membrane as a redox flow cell, a fuel cell, and used for wastewater and air purification. The double-layer ion-selective membrane is comprised of a polyetherimide (PEI) layer and an ultrathin layer comprising porous boron nitride (PBN) flakes enmeshed by a NAFION™ resin. The double layer membrane exhibits ion-selectivity and ion-conductivity enabling the membrane to be used in a redox flow cell battery, a fuel cell battery, and to be used in wastewater and air purification applications.
