    摘要: Disclosed herein is an outboard motor mounting arrangement comprising a bracket, an arm pivotally connected to a bracket adapted to support an outboard motor and pivotally connected to a member adapted to be mounted on a boat hull for pivotal movement relative to the member between a storage position in which the arm extends in one direction from the member and an operating position in which the arm extends in the opposite direction, an arcuate surface on the bracket co-axial with the pivotal connection of the bracket to the arm, and means including an element operably connected to the member and to the bracket and extending tangentially to the arcuate surface for rotating the bracket relative to the arm and in response to movement of the arm between the storage position and the operating position.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a marine propulsion unit steering mechanism which includes a double-acting hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly having a piston rod supporting a piston, a cylinder mounted for movement on the piston rod and piston. One of the piston rod and the cylinder is connected to a steering arm provided on the marine propulsion unit and the other of the piston rod and cylinder is connected to the transom of a boat. Also included is a hydraulic fluid control with a spool valve connected through the piston rod to a remote actuator to control the flow of a continuous supply of hydraulic fluid to and from the assembly.

THE DRIVE SHAFT HOUSING INCLUDES A DRIVE SHAFT AND A PROPELLER SHAFT WHICH FORM AN ACUTE ANGLE MEASURED ON THE AFTWARD SIDED OF THE DRIVE SHAFT AND THE UPPER SIDE OF THE AXIS OF THE PROPELLER SHAFT. MEANS ARE PROVIDED FOR SELECTIVELY TILTING THE DRIVE SHAFT HOUSING ABOUT THE HORIZONTAL TILT AXIS RELATIVE TO A NORMAL OPERATING POSITION WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT EXTENDING DOWNWARDLY AND FORWARDLY AND WITH THE PROPELLER SHAFT BEING GENERALLY HORIZONTAL. STEERING IS AFFORDED BY ROTATING THE LOWER HOUSING SECTION ABOUT THE DRIVE SHAFT AXIS. THE INTERIOR OF THE LOWER HOUSING SECTION IS IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE INTERIOR OF THE UPPER HOUSING SECTION TO AFFORD UNDERWATER DISCHARGE OF EXHAUST THROUGH A PASSAGE IN THE PROPELLER HUB.
